CATS AND DOGS 2: THE REVENGE OF KITTY GALORE

In the age-old battle between cats and dogs, one crazed feline has taken things a paw too far. Kitty Galore, formerly an agent for cat spy organization MEOWS, has gone rogue and hatched a diabolical plan to not only bring her canine enemies to heel, but take down her former kitty comrades and make the world her scratching post. Faced with this unprecedented threat, cats and dogs will be forced to join forces for the first time in history in an unlikely alliance to save themselves and their humans.

Kitty Galore, a hairless Sphynx cat, is fed up with dogs and her fellow cat comrades, so she decides to take over the world and enslave the humans. Diggs, a German Shepherd police dog, and his mentor, Butch, are selected by the Dogs HQ spy force to stop her. Having no other option to stop Kitty Galore, the cats join forces with the dogs with additional support from a pigeon to block Galore's evil scheme. Meanwhile, Kitty Galore gains the aid of the mice (One of them is also seen as her pet) and the main antagonist from the first film, Mr. Tinkles. Cats and dogs must now work together to save the world, and their humans.

GROWN UPS (2010)

In 1978, five friends win their junior high basketball championship. During the celebration, their coach "Buzzer" (Blake Clark) encourages them to live their lives in a similar way to how they played the game.30 years later, the five friends have since separated. Lenny Feder (Adam Sandler) is a film star agent who is married to Roxanne (Salma Hayek), a fashion designer. Together, they have two sons, Greg and Keith, and one daughter Becky, all of whom have become spoiled, much to Lenny's annoyance. Eric Lamonsoff (Kevin James) is a co-owner of a lawn furniture company who is married to Sally (Maria Bello). Together, they have one daughter, Donna and one son Bean, who still breastfeeds despite being four years old, much to Eric's chagrin. Kurt McKenzie (Chris Rock) is a stay at home father who is married to Deanne (Maya Rudolph), the primary breadwinner of the family. Together, they have a son, Andre, and a daughter, Charlotte, while Deanne is pregnant with a third child, and her mother, Ronzoni, lives with them as well. All of them harass Kurt for not being more useful. Rob Hilliard (Rob Schneider) is a thrice divorced pacifist vegan married to Gloria (Joyce Van Patten), who is 30 years older than him. Marcus Higgins (David Spade) has become a single womanizer.

When they learn that their coach has died, they all return to New England with their families for the funeral. Lenny rents the lake house for the 4th of July weekend for his friends to stay at, but Lenny can't stay for the whole weekend because Roxanne has a fashion show in Milan. While at the lake house, Lenny is annoyed that their kids would rather play video games than spend time outdoors, so he and the others force their kids to spend more time outside while at the house.At a local restaurant, Lenny runs into his old nemesis Dickie Bailey (Colin Quinn), who works as a cook there. Dickie is still upset at Lenny because he allegedly had his foot out of bounds when he made the long-ago game winning shot and challenges him and his friends to a rematch, but Lenny declines, declaring it a waste of time. During dinner, the group discusses spreading the coache's ashes in the morning, but Lenny says he can't be there because of Roxanne's fashion show. Roxanne angrily storms off because Lenny painted her negatively. She allows him to spread the ashes, but demands they leave early the following morning.

In the morning, the five guys row out to an island to spread the ashes. When Rob is spreading the ashes, he breaks down and tells the guys that he screwed up his previous marriages and that he's nervous about meeting his daughters who are coming. When they get back to the house, they finally meet Rob's daughters, two of them, Jasmine and Amber, who seem too gorgeous to be Rob's, and one, Bridget, who very closely resembles him. To calm his nerves, the five guys play a game called "Arrow Roulette", in which an arrow is shot up into the air and the last person who runs away wins. Rob wins, but the arrow lands in his foot.

That evening, when Roxanne is packing, Becky's tooth falls out, but Roxanne is too busy to notice and she tells her that she'll put a dollar under her pillow later. When Becky asks why she would do it instead of the Tooth Fairy, Roxanne tells Lenny that she's worried that she ruined Becky's childhood. When Lenny hears his kids supposedly talking on their cellphones, he comes into their bedroom to find them actually talking on "cup phones" with the other kids. Happy that the kids are starting to have the same kind of fun he did at their age, he asks everyone to install cup phones around the house. Roxanne then tells Becky through the cup phone the truth about the Tooth Fairy.

In the morning while packing the car, Roxanne sees all the kids having fun down by the lake and decides that they can't leave the lake house. Happy with his wife's new attitude, Lenny decides they should head to a waterpark for a day. There, Bean learns to drink milk out of a carton, while Marcus flirts constantly with Jasmine and Amber, much to Rob's dismay. The group run into Dickie again, this time with one of his friends Wiley (Steve Buscemi), who ends up in the hospital after a zip line accident.Back out the house, Deanne becomes suspicious of Kurt when she sees him spending time with Rita, Lenny's nanny. That evening, the adults spend time together drinking and dancing, while reminiscing about their pasts. In the morning, Rob suspects that Marcus had sex with either Jasmine or Amber or both of them and confronts him. Jasmine and Amber assure him that he didn't and Marcus assures him that he never would. Roxanne then confronts Lenny about the fact that he canceled their Milan plane reservations before the funeral behind her back. Lenny claims that he felt their time at the lake house was necessary because their kids were becoming too spoiled, but was unsure if Roxanne would go along with it. He tells her he won't lie to her again. Deanne confronts Kurt about supposedly flirting with Rita. Kurt assures her that he wasn't flirting with her, but he enjoyed having an actual conversation with her because he doesn't feel like he gets that with Deanne. Deanne offers to take him out on more dates. Eric then admits to the group that he isn't co-owner of a lawn furniture company and that he was laid off two months ago. He just didn't want everyone to think of him as a failure. Lenny resolves to offer Eric an investment opportunity. Gloria then tells everyone that despite their recent hostility, she senses love between everyone.

The group then head off to a 4th of July barbecue, where they are once again challenged by Dickie and his friends to a rematch of the basketball game. Wiley, in a massive body cast, had escaped intensive care to watch. Rob suggests that their coach would want them to take the challenge and despite everyone's being out of shape and Rob's injury, they agree to a game. The game is close, but most of the players get too tired to continue, leaving only Lenny and Dickie on the court. They bring out their sons to continue playing. When Lenny has the chance to make the game winning shot, he deliberately misses and allows Dickie to win, giving him a sense of victory. Lenny and the others take the loss in stride.

While watching the fireworks, a drunken Marcus decides to play another game of Arrow Roulette, causing everyone to run away, except for Wiley, who can't move, and the arrow lands in his foot and he passes out as the movie ends.

VALHALLA RISING (2010)

1000 AD, for years, One Eye, a mute warrior of supernatural strength, has been held prisoner by the Norse chieftain Barde. Aided by Are, a boy slave, One Eye slays his captor and together he and Are escape, beginning a journey into the heart of darkness. On their flight, One Eye and Are board a Viking vessel, but the ship is soon engulfed by an endless fog that clears only as the crew sights an unknown land. As the new world reveals its secrets and the Vikings confront their terrible and bloody fate, One Eye discovers his true self.

Chapter I Wrath

A mysterious mute Norse warrior named One-Eye is held captive up above in misty highlands. He is forced as a prisoner to be pitted against other criminals and mercilessly fight to the death. One-Eye continues to survive each fight, ruthlessly slaughtering his enemies by the numbers. While imprisoned, a young boy named Are tends to him regularly, bringing him food and water.

One-Eye is shown to have the ability to foresee events in his dreams. A dream of him bathing in a pond leads him to discover an arrow on the bottom of a water bed. Using the arrow, One-Eye breaks free, slaughters the group and places the head of the warden on a pike.

Chapter II Silent Warrior

With One-Eye leaving the land, he soon realizes that the young boy, Are, is pursuing him in curiosity. Together, they reach a small settlement of Crusaders, Christians ready to embark on a crusade to Jerusalem. The leader of the group, Kare, asks One-Eye to join him. He reasons that one may cleanse his or her soul of sin by committing to the Crusades.

Chapter III Men of God

The Crusaders, One-Eye and Are are seen on a boat destined for Jerusalem. The crew are broken, thirsty and hungry. With no wind for several days, a thick fog shrouds them constantly, preventing them from determining their direction or location. Lost, the crew begins to believe that the voyage is cursed. Some attribute the supposed curse to the presence of the boy. Mutiny nearly arises as a crew member moves to murder the boy. However, he is quickly killed by One-Eye.

Sensing a change, One-Eye takes a drink from the water around the boat and discovers that the boat is actually in an estuary and no longer at the sea. With the fog dissipating, the crew sees the first sight of land off into the distance.

Chapter IV The Holy Land

Upon landing, to their surprise The Holy Land is not a place of vast empty desert one might expect in the Middle East, but rather resembles the Taiga, with vast forests full of lakes and mountains. The crew sets out to explore the area, finding no animals to hunt, and no food to eat. Nearly starved, the crew continues until coming across some aboriginal burial sites. One of the crew members, Barde, leaves the group to venture on his own.

Upon realizing they have not reached Jerusalem, the crew prepares the ship to depart and head home. While on water, the group is taunted by a single arrow killing one of their men. Terrified, the crew soon come to believe that they are in Hell.

Chapter V Hell

Upon reaching a nearby shore, One Eye's dreams begin to intensify. He swims to a small island to construct an Inukshuk. Upon returning, One-Eye and the group are confronted by Barde who emerges from the forest naked, with bright blue eyes and covered with strange markings. Barde says he can hear One-Eye's thoughts, and translates that One-Eye is saying they are all going to die. The crew becomes divided, with some trying to attack One-Eye in fear.

Chapter VI The Sacrifice

Arrows from the forest continue to taunt and slaughter ones left behind. Soon after, the band breaks off. Some intend to find friends and relatives scattered in the forest, others intend to stay and die.

Afterwards, One-Eye and Are successfully reach the coastline. They are soon met by a large tribe of aboriginal warriors, who begin to beat One-Eye to death. His final moments are a recollection of the Inukshuk he built, slowly submerging himself into the water with him realizing his future fate.

The tribe leave Are alive and venture back into their native land. The film ends as Are looks off to the coast, with a dream sequence of One-Eye staring back.

COUNTDOWN TO ZERO (2010)

Countdown to Zero, the documentary by filmmaker Lucy Walker, traces the history of the most destructive singular invention in human history, the nuclear bomb. The film also stresses the importance of working towards complete nuclear disarmament and the many ups and downs that have occurred en route to achieving this lofty goal.

Walker paints a pretty dreary picture of the nuclear situation including several stories involving simple lapses in communication that almost lead to nuclear global disasters. Countdown to Zero's most horrifying sequence actually shows the steps that occur when a nuclear bomb is detonated. Even the most hardened individuals couldn't find much upside to the use of such weapons.

The documentary's concept certainly drives the film forward as opposed to its style, which falls a few steps above a typical History Channel documentary (and since it will be distributed on TV on History Channel I guess that makes sense). But compared to a documentary that exudes style such as Man on Wire, Countdown to Zero did not engage me on nearly the same level.

The topic of nuclear disarmament is certainly one of the most relevant and important to explore. Countdown to Zero makes clear its message of Global Zero, which strives for a nuclear weapon-free world, and is a solidly constructed documentary, but I would probably not go out of my way to see this in the theater (and most of you won't need to since it should be coming to a History Channel near you shortly).

SALT (ANGELINA JOLIE - 2010)

As a CIA officer, Evelyn Salt swore an oath to duty, honor and country. Her loyalty will be tested when a defector accuses her of being a Russian spy. Salt goes on the run, using all her skills and years of experience as a covert operative to elude capture. Salt's efforts to prove her innocence only serve to cast doubt on her motives, as the hunt to uncover the truth behind her identity continues and the question remains: "Who is Salt?"

Evelyn Salt (Jolie), a CIA agent, interrogates a Russian defector, Orlov (Olbrychski). He tells her about "Day X", an operation organized by a powerful Russian since the Cold War, which will lead to the destruction of the United States. Orlov also mentions that at the funeral of the late Vice President in New York City, the visiting Russian President will be killed by a trained Russian spy. The last thing he mentions is that the name of the Russian spy is Evelyn Salt. From brain scans performed during the interrogation, Ted Winter (Schreiber), Peabody (Ejiofor), and other CIA officials all see that Orlov is telling the truth.

Salt, who is shaken up after the accusation, under the supervision of the other agents, attempts to contact her husband Mike (Diehl) an arachnologist, fearing that he would be in danger. At the same time, Orlov escapes and Salt proceeds to escape herself, causing the CIA to think she is a spy. She goes back to her apartment to try and find her husband and takes her essentials (including a venomous spider), while escaping the CIA once more, and goes into hiding. The CIA realizes that if Orlov's words are correct, Salt will be the one who kills the Russian President. Salt assumes a new disguise and takes a bus, reaching New York City.

The next day, she sneaks into the heavily guarded St. Bartholomew Church where the Vice President's funeral is being held. Salt climbs in from underground and disables the nearby guards. As the CIA and soldiers close in on her, she creates havoc by blowing up numerous parts of the church as well as capturing the Russian President and shooting him. She encounters Peabody, but instead of killing him, she turns herself in. The NYPD escorts her out, but during the ride on the highway, she manages to escape once more.

There are a series of flashbacks that show Salt growing up in the Soviet Union where Orlov taught her and many other children to obey him and ingratiate themselves into the American government. Then, when it came to Day X, he would command them to strike from various positions in the US. Salt meets Orlov who congratulates her on her killing. He brings her to a river barge, where to test her allegiance, has another agent kill Salt's kidnapped husband in front of her. Salt manages to hide her horror and passes his test. He then tells her Part Two of Day X which would be involve controlling the nuclear weapons of the United States. Salt, who had gone to Orlov to discover his plans, then kills Orlov and everyone else on the barge. She then goes to the rendezvous set up by Orlov to meet a NATO mole.

The two go to the White House, with Salt disguised as a male NATO officer. Her NATO counterpart, without telling Salt his role, suddenly starts shooting at Secret Service agents and detonates a bomb on his body. The Secret Service rush the President to the lower bunker of the White House. Ted Winter is among them, and realizes that Salt might be in pursuit. Meanwhile, the President, believing Russia is preparing a nuclear strike against the US, begins to transmit the launch codes from the nuclear football. Salt infiltrates the bunker and dispatches the bodyguards. Just as she seems stuck outside of the room the President is in, Ted Winter suddenly picks up a gun and kills everyone but the President, whom he knocks unconscious.

He explains to an astonished Salt that he was part of Orlov's plan all along. Winter then uses the nuclear football to start the sequence for launching nuclear missiles at the Muslim cites of Mecca and Tehran, intending to enrage the world's one billion Muslims against the United States. Salt asks Winter to let her in, but Winter discovers from a playing news program that the Russian President is not dead, only placed in a near death state from spider venom. He realizes that Salt is not on his side and is planning to sabotage him. Winter reveals he convinced Orlov to break her cover and planned to kill Orlov himself when it was over. He tells her that she has done the dirty work, and while she will take the fall as the villain after Day X, he will be the hero. He also confesses that he was the one who advised Orlov to kidnap and kill her husband. Salt, seeing a weak point behind the controls for the door lock, manages to get into the secured room and confronts Winter in combat. She succeeds in knocking him down, and the Secret Service along with CIA is heard about to enter the room. Just after she is able to abort the nuclear missile launch set up by Winter, she is arrested and Winter is able to keep his cover as the hero.

As Salt is being escorted out, she pushes aside her escorts and kills Winter by choking him to death with her handcuffs. She is put on a helicopter with Peabody, and she explains everything to him. Peabody figures she is telling the truth, after confirming her betrayal of Orlov via an SMS saying that her fingerprints were found at the barge. They both know that there are other moles out there and Peabody agrees to let her escape so she can find and kill them. He uncuffs her and remarks, "Go get 'em!" as Salt jumps into the Potomac, free once more.

Chosen for their ability to kill without conscience, a group of killers, some trained and some who are not, must endeavour the alien race of predators that have set out to target them as prey. Dropped into the vast jungle of a distant world, these human predators must learn just who, or what, they are up against, and that their ability, knowledge and wits are tested to the limits in the battle of survival of kill or be killed.

Royce (Adrien Brody) awakens from unconsciousness to find himself parachuting into an unfamiliar jungle. He meets several others who have arrived there in the same manner: Mexican drug cartel enforcer Cuchillo (Danny Trejo), Spetsnaz soldier Nikolai (Oleg Taktarov), Israel Defense Forces sniper Isabelle (Alice Braga), Revolutionary United Front officer Mombasa (Mahershalalhashbaz Ali), death row inmate Stans (Walton Goggins), Yakuza enforcer Hanzo (Louis Ozawa Changchien), and doctor Edwin (Topher Grace). None of them know where they are or how they arrived there. Royce takes charge but reveals little about himself, though Isabelle suspects that he is a mercenary and former black operations soldier. He speculates that they have been brought to the jungle for a reason, since with the exception of Edwin they are all armed and lethal killers. In the jungle they find empty cages, plants with a neurotoxic poison that Edwin collects on a scalpel, and a deceased United States Special Forces soldier. Arriving at higher ground they find themselves staring at an alien sky, and conclude that they are not on Earth.

After the party is attacked by a pack of quadrupedal alien beasts, Royce deduces that the planet is some type of game preserve and that the humans are being hunted as game. Hearing Cuchillo's cries for help, they find his dead body being used and voice being mimicked in an attempt to bait them into a trap. They follow the quadrupeds' tracks to a hunting encampment and find a captive Predator. Three larger Predators attack, killing Mombasa, but the rest of the group escapes. Isabelle reveals that she has heard of these creatures before, from a report by the only survivor of a Special Forces team who encountered one in Guatemala in 1987 (referring to the events of Predator).

The group next meets Noland (Laurence Fishburne), an air assault soldier who has survived on the planet for years by scavenging and hiding in an abandoned structure. He explains that the Predators sharpen their killing skills by collecting warriors and dangerous beasts from other worlds and bringing them to the planet to hunt. Noland also reveals that there is a blood feud between the larger Predators and the smaller ones. Royce hopes that if they free the smaller Predator being held prisoner in the encampment, it might be able to take them home using the other Predators' spaceship. Noland attempts to murder the group during the night, but Royce creates noise to attract the Predators, who kill Noland. In the ensuing chase Nikolai sacrifices himself to kill one of the Predators using an explosive. Stans is killed by a second Predator, which Hanzo then succeeds in killing at the cost of his own life.

Edwin is injured by a trap as he, Royce, and Isabelle head for the encampment. When Isabelle refuses to abandon him, Royce leaves them both behind and they are caught by the third and final large Predator. Royce frees the smaller Predator and heads for the ship as the two Predators confront each other. The larger Predator kills its foe and then destroys the ship as it takes off. Meanwhile, Edwin paralyzes Isabelle with the neurotoxic poison on his scalpel and reveals that on Earth he was a psychopathic murderer, and feels that he fits in on this planet among the monsters. Royce appears, never having boarded the ship, and saves Isabelle by stabbing Edwin through the throat.

Royce booby-traps Edwin's body with grenades, using him as bait to disorient the Predator. A violent fight ensues in which Royce successfully decapitates the Predator after being saved by a sniper shot from the recovering Isabelle. As Royce and Isabelle recover from their ordeal they observe more prey being parachuted down to the jungle. Royce declares that they must find another way off of the planet.

DESPICABLE ME (2010)

When a busload of tourists stops at the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt, a boy named Justin accidentally falls onto it to discover that it has been stolen and replaced by an inflatable rubber duplicate. News of the theft shocks and puzzles the world.

In the middle of a suburban neighborhood sits a black house with a dead lawn. Unbeknownst to the neighbors, hidden deep beneath this home is the vast secret hideout of the supervillain Gru (Steve Carell) and his army of naughty genetically-altered Corn Pops called minions. When he learns of the Pyramid theft, his pride is badly wounded and he resolves to pull the biggest heist in world history: stealing the Moon. Gru tries to get a loan from the local Bank of Evil (formerly Lehman Bros.), where he meets Vector (Jason Segel), and finds out that it was Vector who stole the pyramid. Mr. Perkins (Will Arnett), the bank president, refuses to give Gru a loan until he obtains the shrink ray necessary for the plan. As Gru leaves the bank, he shoots Vector in the head with his freeze ray while he is busy reloading his piranha launcher.

Gru and his minions steal the shrink ray from a secret lab in East Asia, but Vector promptly steals it from him; Gru makes several attempts to get it back, but cannot get inside Vector's lair. After seeing three orphaned girls named Margo (Miranda Cosgrove), Edith (Dana Gaier), and Agnes (Elsie Fisher) get into Vector's lair, Gru adopts them to steal back the shrink ray. Vector has placed a large cookie order, and Gru has his assistant, Dr. Nefario (Russell Brand), build several cookie-shaped robots to slip into the boxes. The cookie robots are designed to help steal the shrink ray from Vector's vault. The heist nearly fails when the robots seal Gru inside the vault, but he and his minions eventually escape through the main entrance.

Gru begins to bond with the three girls at local amusement park, "Funland." He fine-tunes his plan and presents it to Mr. Perkins, who surprises him by still refusing to give him the loan. Perkins then tells Vector (revealed to be his son Victor, who named himself after the math term vector) that Gru has the shrink ray. Though Gru is ready to abandon his plan due to lack of funds, the girls and the minions take up a collection to keep it going. Nefario begins to see the girls as a distraction and has them sent back to the orphanage, breaking Gru's heart.

The heist falls on the same day that the girls are to participate in a ballet recital. Gru shrinks the Moon, pockets it, and rushes back to Earth, but he misses the recital. He finds a note from Vector, who has kidnapped the girls, telling him to bring the moon. After forcing Gru to hand over the moon, Vector does not return the girls, but instead takes them into space aboard his escape pod. Gru gives chase as the effects of the shrink ray wear off (which Dr. Nefario calls the "Nefario principle," the greater the mass of an object before shrinking, the faster the effect wears off), causing the Moon to grow and smash open the cell holding the girls. Gru rescues them with the help of his minions, while the (rapidly-expanding) Moon wrecks Vector's controls so that his pod rockets the moon back into orbit.

Gru and the girls settle down to live a happy life as a family, while Vector is stranded on the Moon. The girls give a special recital for the minions, Gru, and his mother (Julie Andrews), who finally tells him she is proud of him. The music changes and everyone present rushes onstage to dance.

In a happy suburban neighborhood surrounded by white picket fences with flowering rose bushes, sits a black house with a dead lawn. Unbeknownst to the neighbors, hidden beneath this home is a vast secret hideout. Surrounded by a small army of minions, we discover Gru (voiced by Steve Carell), planning the biggest heist in the history of the world. He is going to steal the moon. (Yes, the moon!) THE LAST AIRBENDER (THE AVATAR)

One hundred years ago, a twelve-year-old Airbender named Aang learns he is the new Avatar, the only person in his generation capable of controlling and manipulating all four elements to his will and the one tasked with maintaining peace between the Four Nations of the world. Fearful of the heavy responsibilities of being the Avatar, Aang flees from home on his animal guide, a flying bison called Appa. Caught by a fierce storm, they crash into the ocean, and Aang's protective Avatar State freezes them in a state of suspended animation inside an iceberg. Right after his disappearance, Fire Lord Sozin launches a genocidal campaign against the Air Nomads in hopes of wiping out the Avatar so he can achieve his plot for the Fire Nation to rule the world.

In the present, Aang becomes unfrozen by a fourteen-year-old Waterbender girl named Katara, and her older fifteen-year-old warrior brother, Sokka from the Southern Water Tribe. This attracts the attention of Zuko, the Prince of the Fire Nation who was exiled by his father: The current Fire Lord Ozai. Arriving to Southern Water Tribe, Zuko demands the elderly under the impression that Avatar is an old person until Aang is found. Aang surrenders himself to Zuko as long as he agrees to leave the village alone. Aboard Zuko's ship, Aang is at Zuko's mercy, but he eventually manages to maneuver away from the guards before Katara and Sokka arrive on Appa, making their escape. Aang and friends visit the Southern Air Temple where the Avatar learns that he was in the ice for a century and the Fire Nation wiped out everyone he knew there, entering the Avatar State and meeting a dragon spirit. It was there Aang meets up with the only known remaining "winged lemurbat", naming it "Momo" as it joins Aang's group. Meanwhile, Zuko and his uncle, the military genius Iroh, run into Commander Zhao, who belittles the exiled prince.

Arriving in a small Earth Kingdom town that is controlled by the Fire Nation, Aang's group are arrested while helping a boy named Haru there. They then incite a rebellion with an inspiring speech. Soon after, Katara finds a waterbending scroll that she uses to perfect her skills while helping Aang master waterbending as they make their way to the Northen Water Tribe and liberate more Earth Kingdom villages in the process. During a side track to the Northern Air Temple on his own, Aang is captured by a group of Fire Nation Yuu Yan archers, commanded by Admiral Zhao. However, a masked marauder, the "Blue Spirit," rescues Aang from Zhao before being knocked unconscious during the escape. Discovering that his rescuer is Zuko, Aang takes him to safety under a cloak of fog before leaving him to continue his journey. Aware that Zuko is the "Blue Spirit," Zhao arranges the prince's demise. But Zuko survives the attempt on his life and, with Iroh's help, sneaks aboard Zhao's lead ship as his fleet departs for the Northern Water Tribe to execute the plan he and Ozai set up with the scrolls from the Library detailing the spirits there.

Upon arriving, Aang's group is welcomed warmly by the citizens of the Northern Water Tribe as Sokka falls in love with princess Yue while Aang and Katara master their waterbending skills under Pakku. Once the Fire Nation armada arrives, Zhao begins his attack while Zuko infiltrates the tribe on his own, capturing Aang while he entered the spirit world to find the dragon spirit to give him the wisdom to defeat the Fire Nation. Coming to, Aang battles Zuko before Katara freezes him. As the battles escalates, Iroh watches Zhao slay the moon spirit Tui, causing the waterbenders to lose their power. However, Yue, who was imbued with some of the energy of the Moon spirit when she was a newborn, sacrifices her life to revive the Moon spirit. As Zhao is drowned by Waterbenders after Zuko and Iroh leave him to his fate, Aang uses the ocean to drive the armada back. When news of Zhao's death and Iroh's betrayal reaches him, Ozai appoints his daughter Azula to pursue Aang and hinder him in any way before Sozin's Comet makes its return in three years time.

The world is divided into four kingdoms, each represented by the element they harness, and peace has lasted throughout the realms of Water, Air, Earth, and Fire under the supervision of the Avatar, a link to the spirit world and the only being capable of mastering the use of all four elements. When young Avatar Aang disappears, the Fire Nation launches an attack to eradicate all members of the Air Nomads to prevent interference in their future plans for world domination. 100 years pass and current Fire Lord Ozai continues to conquer and imprison anyone with elemental "bending" abilities in the Earth and Water Kingdoms, while siblings Katara and Sokka from a Southern Water Tribe find a mysterious boy trapped beneath the ice outside their village. Upon rescuing him, he reveals himself to be Aang, Avatar and last of the Air Nomads. Swearing to protect the Avatar, Katara and Sokka journey with him to the Northern Water Kingdom in his quest to master "Waterbending" and eventually fulfill his destiny of once again restoring peace to the world. But as they inch nearer to their goal, the group must evade Prince Zuko, the exiled son of Lord Ozai, Commander Zhao, the Fire Nation's military leader, and the tyrannical onslaught of the evil Fire Lord himself.

When the elder Fischer dies in Sydney, Saito arranges for himself and Cobb's team to share the first-class cabin with the younger Fischer on a flight from Sydney to Los Angeles. They proceed to drug Fischer and enter into a dream with him. They have help from Yusuf (Dileep Rao), the chemist who developed the compounds specific to the multi-level dream state they are attempting. Upon arriving in the first dream level, which is a rainy inner city area, the team kidnaps Fischer but are assaulted by guards within his mind. Saito is injured badly but kept alive. Eames takes the identity of Peter Browning (Tom Berenger), Fischer's godfather, pretending to have been kidnapped as well to try and extract information from Fischer. The team, while inside a van driven by Yusuf while being chased by the mercenaries, pushes down into the next dream level. The second level is a hotel where the team tricks Fischer into believing his dreams are under attack and that the kidnapping on the first level was orchestrated by Browning. Cobb convinces him that he must find out why his godfather is turning against him. The third level (designed by Ariadne, as are the other levels, so that Cobb lacks detailed knowledge of their layout lest his tormented subconscious interfere) is a snowy mountain fortress Fischer must break into, to ultimately locate the idea the team is planting.

During the third-level attempt to break in, Fischer is killed by Cobb's projection of his dead wife Mal, and so is lost into limbo before the idea is planted. Cobb and Ariadne follow him down to this fourth level in an attempt to salvage the mission. But they are running out of time, since at each level, "kicks" to help them escape back to reality are imminent: explosives on the mountain fortress, explosives in the hotel, and the splash of the van into a river. Each team member left behind on each level (Yusuf driving the van, Arthur in the hotel, and Eames and Saito in the fortress) is protecting the rest of the team, fighting off Fischer's projected mercenaries.

In limbo, Ariadne and Cobb are confronted by Mal. It is revealed that Cobb knew inception was possible because when previously trapped in limbo with Mal he had planted the idea in her mind that the "limbo" world was fake — an implantation that got her to leave limbo but persisted in real life, leading to her death. Mal attempts to convince Cobb to stay in limbo and attacks him, but Ariadne shoots her and Mal dies in Cobb's arms. Following this, Fischer and Ariadne are able to return to the third-level mountain fortress, where Fischer confronts his father and reaches the cathartic understanding (as intended by the team) that his father had wanted him to be his own man. But during the confrontation with Mal in limbo, Saito dies (in level three). Cobb remains in the limbo state to locate him, indicating that, in the opening scene, Cobb was trying to bring back an aged Saito.

THE SORCERER'S APPRENTICE

Balthazar Blake (Nicolas Cage) is a master sorcerer in modern-day Manhattan trying to defend the city from his arch-nemesis, Maxim Horvath (Alfred Molina). Balthazar can't do it alone, so he recruits Dave Stutler (Jay Baruchel), a seemingly average guy who demonstrates hidden potential, as his reluctant protégé. The sorcerer gives his unwilling accomplice a crash course in the art and science of magic, and together, these unlikely partners work to stop the forces of darkness. Horvath enlists Drake Stone (Toby Kebbell), a magician who uses his powers as an entertainer, to help him retrieve the Grimhold and defeat Balthazar and Dave, whom Horvath realizes is the Prime Merlinian. They attempt to kill Dave while he's alone, but Balthazar saves him and traps Horvath using a "Hungarian Mirror Trap". Dave demands to know the truth and Balthazar tells him everything: Morgana is the one trapped in the Grimhold, as well as Balthazar's lost love Veronica, and if Morgana escapes, she will attempt a spell known as "The Rising", which will raise evil sorcerers from the dead, and use them to destroy the world. Dave, as the Prime Merlinian, a descendant of Merlin and inheritor to all of his powers, is the only one who can defeat Morgana.

Horvath and Drake steal back the Grimhold and once they have it, Horvath uses a spell to steal all of Drake's energy, killing him, and takes his ring. He releases the witch, Abigail Williams (Nicole Ehinger), in the last layer around the Grimhold and uses her to kidnap Becky. Once Abigail completes that, Horvath uses the same spell on her and steals all of her energy, as well as her magic pendant. Balthazar and Dave go to retrieve the Grimhold. Horvath threatens to kill Becky, forcing Dave to give up both the Grimhold and his ring. Balthazar goes on his own to defeat Horvath and Morgana, knowing that without the ring, Dave will be killed.

Horvath uses the added rings and energy to release Morgana, who still possesses Veronica's body, from the Grimhold. With all of their preparations in place, Morgana begins the spell. But Dave, with Becky's help and using his skills with plasma physics, reaches them in time to defeat Horvath and stop Morgana from completing the Rising. Balthazar then uses the same spell Veronica used before to absorb Morgana's soul from her body and into his. But Morgana escapes from Balthazar's body, killing him. She is about to incinerate them all until Dave stops her, using magic without the ring, proving that he is the Prime Merlinian. Using the same experiment he showed to Becky earlier, he discharges Morgana and destroys her using multiple plasma bolts; he then saves Balthazar by jump starting his heart. Balthazar reunites with Veronica, giving her the necklace he wanted to give her before. Dave and Becky kiss and fly to France on Balthazar's eagle.

Riley Biers (Xavier Samuel) is attacked by Victoria (Bryce Dallas Howard), while she's out creating an army of newborns set to destroy Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart). Back in Forks, Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) and Bella discuss the complications of becoming an immortal vampire. At 18 years old, one year older than the age Edward was when he became a vampire, Bella expresses her aversion to the idea of marrying so young, though Edward refuses to turn her until they're married and she's had various human experiences she would otherwise miss. While Charlie Swan (Billy Burke) is investigating the disappearance of Riley Biers, Edward suspects his disappearance was caused by the newborn vampires. Furthering his suspicions is the intrusion of Riley into Bella's room.

Although Edward fears for her safety, Bella insists that Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner) and the rest of the werewolf pack would never harm her, but Edward is still not convinced. Bella goes to La Push to see Jacob, and returns to her home unharmed. During one of her visits, Jacob confesses that he is in love with Bella, and kisses her. Furious, she punches him and sprains her hand, and Edward later threatens to break Jacob's jaw. Bella even revokes the invitations of Jacob and his pack members to her graduation party, but when Jacob apologizes for his behavior, she eventually forgives him.

Meanwhile, Alice has a vision of the newborn army, attacking Forks and led by Riley Biers. Jacob, accompanied by Quil and Embry overhear this, which leads to an alliance between the Cullens and Wolf pack. Later, the Cullens and the wolves agree a meeting place and time to train and discuss strategy. During the training Jasper explains to Bella that he was created by a vampire called Maria to control a newborn army. He hated his original existence and upon meeting Alice, joined the Cullens with her. Bella sees the true bond between a mated vampire pair and begins to understand Jasper better. Despite her reluctance to marry, Bella realizes that spending eternity with Edward is more important to her than anything else and accepts his proposal. Edward and Bella camp up in the mountains to hide Bella from the bloodthirsty newborns. During the night, Bella overhears a conversation between Edward and Jacob, in which they temporarily put aside their hatred towards each other. In the morning, Jacob overhears Edward and Bella discussing their engagement and becomes very upset. Before he can run off to get himself killed in the fight with the newborns, Bella desperately asks him to kiss her, and she realizes that she has fallen in love with him. Edward finds out about the kiss but isn't angry, as Bella says she loves him more than Jacob.

Victoria eventually finds Bella's hiding spot, and Edward kills her while Seth kills her partner Riley. The Cullens and the Quileute wolves, meanwhile, destroy her "army", though Jacob is injured saving Leah Clearwater from a newborn. Several members of the Volturi arrive to deal with the newborn army. They also see that the Cullens are guarding the newborn, Bree Tanner, who had refused to fight and surrendered to Carlisle. Jane tortures Bree to get information, then instructs Felix to kill her, despite the Cullens' efforts to spare her. When Jane notes that Caius will find it interesting that Bella is still human, Bella informs her that the date for her transformation has been set. Bella visits Jacob in his home to tell him that even though she loves him, she has chosen to be with Edward. Heartbroken by her choice, Jacob reluctantly agrees to stop trying to come between her and Edward.

Bella and Edward go to their meadow, where she tells him she has decided to do things his way: get married, make love, then be transformed into a vampire. She also explains that she never has been normal and never will be; she's felt out of place her entire life, but when she is in Edward´s world she feels stronger. They then decide they need to tell Charlie about their engagement.

Woody, Buzz and the whole gang are back. As their owner Andy prepares to depart for college, his loyal toys find themselves in daycare where untamed tots with their sticky little fingers do not play nice. So, it's all for one and one for all as they join Barbie's counterpart Ken, a thespian hedgehog named Mr. Pricklepants and a pink, strawberry-scented teddy bear called Lots-o'-Huggin' Bear to plan their great escape. Andy is now 17 and ready to head off to college, leaving Woody, Buzz, Jessie, and the rest of the toy-box gang to ponder their uncertain futures. When the toys are accidentally donated to the Sunnyside Daycare center they're initially overjoyed to once again be played with, but their enthusiasm quickly gives way to horror as they discover the true nature of the establishment under the rule of the deceptively welcoming "Lotso" Bear. Now, all of the toys must band together in one final, crazy scheme to escape their confines and return home to Andy. Written by The Massie Twins

Andy, now 17 years old, has outgrown his old toys and is preparing to move to college. He decides to take Woody with him and packs the other toys in a garbage bag, intending to store them in the attic, but Andy's mom mistakenly puts the bag out on the curb. Believing that Andy no longer wants them, the toys sneak into a box to be donated to Sunnyside Daycare. As the only toy who saw what really happened, Woody tries to clear up the misunderstanding, but the others refuse to listen. The toys are driven to Sunnyside where they receive a warm welcome from the daycare toys, led by Lotso the "Lots-O'-Huggin' Bear." Woody tries to convince the others to return to Andy, but they decide they are happier at Sunnyside, so he leaves without them. The others soon discover the children Lotso assigned them with are too young, and they are innocently abused and tortured. Buzz goes to ask Lotso to transfer them to the older children, but is instead caught by some of the Sunnyside toys and reset to his original, deluded space ranger self.

As he escapes Sunnyside, Woody is found and taken in by a girl from the daycare named Bonnie. Bonnie's toys reveal to Woody the truth about Lotso and Sunnyside: Lotso had once been owned by a child, but snapped after his owner lost and replaced him, so he took over Sunnyside and turned it into a toy internment camp. At the daycare, the others discover that Andy is looking for them when Mrs. Potato Head sees him through her missing eye, which was lost in Andy's room. The toys try to leave but are imprisoned by Lotso and his henchmen, including Buzz in his demo mode. Woody returns to Sunnyside to help his friends break out. They accidentally reset Buzz to his Spanish mode during the escape, after which he returns to their side and expresses his love for Jessie. The toys use a garbage chute to reach a dumpster outside the daycare, but Lotso and his henchmen catch them. Woody and his friends convince a henchman of Lotso's treachery, so he throws Lotso in the dumpster. However, Lotso pulls Woody into the dumpster just before a garbage truck arrives, forcing the others to rescue him, with Buzz returning to normal in the process.

The truck takes the toys to a dump where they are forced onto a conveyor belt for disposal. Woody helps Lotso and the others escape a shredder, but Lotso leaves them to fall into an incinerator. As the toys accept their imminent demise and join hands in a dramatic scene, they are rescued by a giant claw crane (a literal deus ex machina) operated by the squeeze toy aliens, while Lotso is found by a garbage man and tied to the front of a truck, to his dismay. The toys return to Andy's house on a garbage truck driven by Sid and prepare to be stored in the attic, but after hearing Andy tell his mom that she will always be with him as she emotionally surveys his now-empty room, Woody decides he and his friends would better serve their purpose elsewhere, now that their time with Andy is over, therefore he leaves a note to Andy suggesting he donate his toys to Bonnie. Together with Bonnie, Andy plays with his toys one more time before he leaves for college, whispering "Thanks, guys" to them as Bonnie waves Woody's hand at him in farewell as Andy drives away. Woody and his friends begin their lives anew with Bonnie's toys while the reformed Sunnyside toys, led by Ken and Barbie, begin turning the daycare into a true toy paradise.

EXTRAORDINARY MEASURES (2010)

Brendan Fraser plays John Crowley, a biotechnology executive whose two youngest children were afflicted with Pompe disease or acid maltase deficiency. Along with his wife Aileen (Keri Russell), he raises money for research scientist Robert Stonehill (Harrison Ford), forming a company to develop a drug to save his children's lives. Dr. Stonehill is a composite of the many great scientists and researchers that researched for a cure over the years, among them Drs Arnold Reuser, Ans van der Ploeg, William Canfield and Dr. Yuan-Tsong Chen.

The film centers on the Crowleys' two dying children, aged 9 and 7. In real life, most children with Pompe disease would die before age 2. There is also a juvenile and adult form which can present at almost any age. Those in the real story were 15 months and 7 days old when they got sick. They were 5 and 4 years old when treatment began.

Adapted by Robert Nelson Jacobs from a nonfiction book by the journalist Geeta Anand, the film is also an examination of how medical research is conducted and financed.

Derek Thompson is 'The Tooth Fairy,' a hard-charging minor league hockey player whose nickname comes from his habit of separating opposing players from their bicuspids. When Derek discourages a youngster's hopes, he's sentenced to one week's hard labor as a real tooth fairy, complete with the requisite tutu, wings and magic wand. At first, Derek "can't handle the tooth" – bumbling and stumbling as he tries to furtively wing his way through strangers' homes…doing what tooth fairies do. Derek Thompson (Dwayne Johnson) is a minor league hockey player nicknamed "The Tooth Fairy" for hitting opposing players so hard that he knocks out their teeth. One night, he steals a dollar from his girlfriend Carly's (Ashley Judd) 6-year-old daughter Tess (Destiny Whitlock) that had been left for her lost tooth. Later that night, he receives a summons under his pillow. He magically grows wings and is transported to the realm of tooth fairies. There, he meets his case worker, Tracy (Stephen Merchant), and the head fairy, Lily (Julie Andrews). Lily tells Derek that he is a "dream crusher", because of what he did to Tess. He is then sentenced to serve 2 weeks as a tooth fairy. He returns to his bed and wakes up believing that it was dream.

The next night, Derek believes what happened the night before wasn't a dream after he receives a text message from Tracy for his first appointment. He then meets Jerry (Billy Crystal), who gives him the things he needs for duty, including Shrinking Paste, Invisible Spray, Amnesia Dust, Cat Away, and mints that makes people bark like a dog. Derek visits several children and tries his best to become a good tooth fairy, but ends up ultimately causing more harm than good. Lily states that he is the worst tooth fairy ever and denies him more supplies for the remainder of his sentence. However, he buys some tooth fairy supplies second-hand from another fairy named Ziggy (Seth MacFarlane). When he uses these for his next duty, they malfunction and he is found by the child's mother and is arrested. While behind bars, Tracy tells Derek that because of this, his duty is extended to 3 weeks and is bailed out.

The next day, Carly and Tess go to a makeover party, leaving him to take care of Carly's teenage son, Randy (Chase Ellison), who wants to grow up to be a rockstar and dislikes Derek for being similar to her past boyfriends. Later, Derek defends Randy against a bully and Randy grows to like Derek. Derek also becomes a better tooth fairy by helping Tracy become an official tooth fairy. After Derek attempts to make a goal during a hockey game, he falls and misses and his coach threatens to bench him the next game. That night, mad over what happened at the game, Derek tells Tess and Randy that there is no such thing as dreams. With the children upset, Carly ends their relationship and drives back home. Later, Tracy comes to Derek's house and announces that he is an official tooth fairy.

The next game, Derek is benched but goes back on the ice and sees Tracy, who wants him to make a goal and to go get Tess' loose tooth. Derek makes the goal, gets into his tooth fairy costume, and flies away while Tracy spreads Amnesia Dust on everyone. At Carly's, Tess sees Derek taking her tooth and promises to keep it a secret, and Derek gives Randy a new guitar as an apology and flies him to the talent show. There, Carly sees him as a tooth fairy, but assumes that he rented a costume. Derek dusts Randy with Amnesia dust and heads back to the fairy realm to give Lily the tooth, and gets fairy-dusted by her, then transported back to the talent show. There, Randy outperforms everyone and manages to get a band to play with him. Derek proposes to Carly, and she accepts.

LEGION - MOVIE (2010)

An out-of-the-way diner becomes the unlikely battleground for the survival of the human race. When God loses faith in humankind, he sends his legion of angels to bring on the Apocalypse. Humanity's only hope lies in a group of strangers trapped in a desert diner with the Archangel Michael (Bettany).

The Archangel Michael (Bettany) falls to Earth in Los Angeles, cuts off his wings, and raids a police arsenal for a cache of automatic weapons. Confronted by two LAPD officers, one becomes possessed and kills the other. Michael kills the possessed cop and steals his car.

The remainder of the story takes place in a small roadside diner and garage in the middle of the New Mexico desert. Its semi-permanent residents are the diner's owner, Bob Hanson (Quaid), his son Jeep (Black), the short-order cook Percy (Charles S. Dutton) and the waitress, Charlie (Palicki). Charlie is pregnant with an absentee father's child, and Jeep has always loved her, though he is afraid to say so. Also present are a single father on his way to L.A., Kyle (Tyrese Gibson), and an urban married couple, Howard and Sandra Anderson (Jon Tenney and Kate Walsh), and their rebellious teenaged daughter, Audrey (Willa Holland), who have been temporarily stranded at the diner after their car has broken down.

An elderly woman named Gladys (Jeanette Miller) comes in and starts acting strangely, telling Charlie that her baby "is going to burn." When she insults Sandra as well, Howard gets up to demand an apology, and Gladys attacks him, biting a hole in his throat, and then crawls up the wall like a spider. She taunts Jeep before she is fatally shot by Kyle. Kyle and Sandra try to drive Howard to the nearest hospital, but are forced to turn back by a cloud of flies darkening the sky.

With the phones and radio down, the diner is cut off from the outside world. Michael arrives and begins issuing guns to the bewildered inhabitants. He explains that God has lost faith in mankind, and ordered his angels to carry out the Apocalypse. He has disobeyed God's orders, and has come to protect mankind's only hope: Charlie's baby, who is fated to be the world's savior. For that very reason, the angels will soon be laying siege to the diner, trying to kill Charlie and her baby. As night falls, a wave of possessed humans attacks the barricaded diner. Michael and the others hold them off, but the wounded Howard is dragged outside and disappears.

The next day, Sandra hears her husband's voice calling to her, and looks outside to see him being Crucified upside down, his body covered with boils and sores. Michael warns her that it is a trap, but she runs outside, where "Howard" bursts full of acid. Percy shields Sandra from the acid, but is killed himself. On the second night, Kyle is killed in the second attack, duped by an angel masquerading as a child in danger. As the second wave is repelled, Charlie goes into labor, and delivers her baby, a boy. Michael warns them that this is both good and bad; the boy acts as a shield against the other angels but God is now likely to send another being like himself, who can get close to the child: the Archangel Gabriel. Sandra snatches the baby and prepares to give it up in exchange for their lives. As she nears the door, Michael shoots her and Jeep snatches the baby back. Gabriel smashes into the diner and wounds Bob with his wings. Michael tells Jeep, Charlie and Audrey to get the baby away, while he holds off Gabriel. The three walk the baby through the crowd of possessed people, who clear a path for them, and speed away in a car.

Gabriel and Michael fight, and Gabriel wins, stabbing Michael through the heart with his mace. Then he sees the dying Bob, who lights a flame to the diner's gas main, blowing up the diner and destroying the remaining possessed. However, Gabriel survives, and swoops down on the fleeing car. As he tries to reach Charlie, Jeep slams on the brakes, sending the car into a crash that pitches Gabriel out, but kills Audrey. Gabriel finally corners Jeep, Charlie and her baby in the mountains. He is about to kill them, when Michael appears, fully angelic again. His refusal to give up on mankind, including sacrificing his own life, has convinced God to change His mind and give humanity a second chance. Gabriel and Michael fly away, before which Michael tells Jeep and Charlie to take care of the baby. Jeep and Charlie are last seen driving down the road, with Charlie nursing her baby, and Michael's arsenal of guns in their backseat.

The film begins and ends with the same monologue by Charlie: telling how her mother's view of God changed while Charlie was a child, from a loving and merciful God to a stern and unforgiving one. When the young Charlie asked why He had changed, her mother said, "I don't know. Maybe He was just tired of all the bullshit."

She must weigh her desire for vengeance against her desire for her family to heal.Based on the best selling book by Alice Sebold, The Lovely Bones is the story of a 14-year-old girl from suburban Pennsylvania who is murdered by her neighbor. She tells the story from Heaven, showing the lives of the people around her and how they have changed all while attempting to get someone to find her lost body.

The Lovely Bones is a 2009 fantasy drama/suspense film directed by Peter Jackson. It is a film adaptation of the award-winning and best-selling 2002 novel of the same name by Alice Sebold. The film stars Saoirse Ronan in the lead role as protagonist Susie Salmon, along with Mark Wahlberg and Rachel Weisz, as her parents Jack and Abigail Salmon respectively, in supporting roles.

Jackson and his producer partners acquired the rights independently and developed a script on their own, later selling it to DreamWorks. Principal photography began in October 2007 in New Zealand and Pennsylvania, United States. After DreamWorks left the project, Paramount became the film's sole distributor. The film's trailer was released on August 4, 2009, and clips from the movie were shown in July 2009.

The Lovely Bones was first released on December 26, 2009 in New Zealand, and then internationally in January 2010. The film's North American release date was changed multiple times, with a limited release on December 11, 2009, and a wider release on January 15, 2010.[1] It was released to mainly mixed reviews from critics; the story and its message were generally criticized, with praise mainly aimed at the acting, particularly of Ronan and Stanley Tucci. In the film's opening weekend, in limited release, it grossed $116,616 despite only having been screened in three theaters, placing it at 30th place on the box office chart.[1] As of Feb. 8, 2010, The Lovely Bones has made an estimated $42,157,616 in North America. The film, mainly its cast -- particularly Tucci -- has received various awards and nominations, notably including a Golden Globe, Screen Actors Guild and Academy Award nominations.

LEAP YEAR (2010)

Anna (Amy Adams) travels to Dublin, Ireland to propose to her boyfriend Jeremy (Adam Scott) on February 29, leap day, because according to Irish tradition, a woman can propose to a man on February 29 during a leap year.[3] While mid-flight to Dublin, there is a storm and the plane diverts to Cardiff, Wales. Anna hires a boat to take her to Cork, but the severity of the storm forces her to be put ashore on the Dingle Peninsula. She enlists the help of a surly Irish innkeeper, Declan (Matthew Goode), to taxi her across the country to Dublin to pull off the proposal in time, and begins to question her intentions with Jeremy when she makes a connection with Declan.

At first, Declan refuses to drive Anna to Dublin, but after his inn is threatened with foreclosure the next morning, he agrees to drive for €500. The two set out in Declan's rickety car, but they quickly run into a herd of cows. Anna shoos them away but steps in cow dung, causing her to lean against the car, which wheels back into a lake. They reach a train station by foot. While passing time waiting for the train at a nearby castle, Declan asks Anna what she would save if her apartment caught fire, and she is unable to answer. The train arrives early, and Anna misses it. The two go to a bed and breakfast, where they are forced to say that they are married so they are allowed to stay by their conservative hosts. During dinner, Anna and Declan are forced to kiss, which causes some confusion for them. That night, they hesitantly sleep in the same bed. The next day they take shelter from a hail storm in a church where a wedding is taking place. At the reception, Declan reveals that he was once engaged, but that his ex-fiance ran off with his best friend, and his family ring, to Dublin.

The next day they arrive, by bus, in Dublin. When Anna reached Jeremy's hotel he proposes to her, and she accepts with hesitation as Declan walks away. At their engagement party, Anna finds out that Jeremy proposed to her in an effort to impress the manager of the ritzy condominium the two were attempting to buy. Dismayed, Anna pulls the fire alarm and watches as Jeremy grabs all the electronics before fleeing. Anna goes back to the Dingle Peninsula, where Declan is successfully running his inn. She proposes that they get together to "not make plans", and Declan leaves the room. Anna interprets this as rejection, so she goes outside and stands at a cliff over the sea. Declan follows her out and proposes to her with the ring he retrieved from his ex-fiance while in Dublin. Some time after, the two are shown driving in Declan's car with a 'Just Married' sign in the back.

A woman who has an elaborate scheme to propose to her boyfriend on Leap Day, an Irish tradition which occurs every time the date February 29 rolls around, faces a major setback when bad weather threatens to derail her planned trip to Dublin. With the help of an innkeeper, however, her cross-country odyssey just might result in her getting engaged.

In 2019, most of the world’s population has become vampires because of a pandemic disease. As human numbers dwindle, the need for blood becomes desperate. When deprived for extended periods, vampires transform into sub-siders, aggressive bat-like creatures. Humans are captured and harvested in laboratory farms while scientists research a synthetic blood-substitute. The main supplier of blood in the U.S. is the pharmaceutical company Bromley Marks, run by Charles Bromley (Sam Neill). Edward Dalton (Ethan Hawke) and Chris Caruso (Vince Colosimo) are hematologists working on the blood-substitute. Under pressure from Charles, they try multiple versions in a series of failing clinical trials. Meanwhile, Edward secretly refuses to drink human blood and faces a strained relationship with his brother, Frankie (Michael Dorman), a human-hunting soldier.

A covert group of humans led by Audrey (Claudia Karvan) rescues and hides humans from vampire patrols while they attempt to win allies amongst the vampires. Audrey contacts Edward because of his human sympathies and scientific specialty. He meets Elvis (Willem Dafoe), a man cured of vampirism by brief exposure to sunlight. After some experimentation, Edward is able to duplicate this effect and is cured himself.

When a convoy of humans headed to Audrey’s group is captured by Bromley soldiers, Charles is reunited with his human daughter, Alison (Isabel Lucas) and has her forcibly turned by Frankie. She refuses blood and begins to turn into a sub-sider. She is killed when a group of the creatures are rounded up and executed. Witnessing Alison’s death upsets Frankie and he seeks out his brother.

Edward, Elvis, and Audrey meet with Chris and ask him to help spread the cure. However, Chris has finally discovered a viable blood-substitute and does not want a cure to become widespread. He calls in a vampire patrol who captures Audrey while Elvis and Edward escape into hiding. They are finally found by Frankie who agrees to help but is changing into a sub-sider. He attacks Elvis and they learn that feeding on a former vampire is also a cure.

Edward turns himself in and goads Charles into attacking him. Edward then uses Charles to cure a group of soldiers experiencing the beginning of sub-sider aggression. Edward and Audrey, cornered by more soldiers, are rescued when Frankie sacrifices himself to the soldiers. This sparks a chain-reaction feeding frenzy that leaves all of the soldiers dead or cured. They are confronted by Chris, who kills the cured soldiers to hide the evidence of the cure. Elvis arrives and rescues them by killing Chris. The three then drive away into the sunrise with a voice-over by Edward stating that they now are the cure and will cure any vampire who wishes to be human again.

In a world 10 years into the future, vampires make up the vast majority of the population with only 5% of the human race remaining. This presents particular challenges as the vampires' food supply - human blood - is dwindling and rationing is now the norm. There is growing evidence that vampires deprived of an adequate blood supply are themselves evolving into wild, vile creatures that attack anyone and anything in order to survive. Dr. Edward Dalton, a vampire and hematologist who works for a pharmaceutical firm, has been working on finding an artificial blood supply that will meet the vampire society's needs. He is sympathetic to humans and sees his work as a way of alleviating their suffering but his views on finding a solution change considerably when he meets someone who found a way to transform himself from being a vampire to again take human form.

AVATAR (2009)

In 2154 AD, a human corporation mines Pandora, a lush, low gravity moon of Polyphemus, a gas giant orbiting Alpha Centauri A, 4.4 light-years (280,000 AU) from Earth. The humans seek to exploit Pandora's reserves of unobtanium, a precious mineral. Parker Selfridge (Giovanni Ribisi), head of the operation, employs former marines and soldiers as mercenaries.

Pandora is inhabited by an indigenous paleolithic species of sapient humanoids called the Na'vi. Standing 9 feet (2.7 m) tall, with tails, bones reinforced with naturally occurring carbon fiber, and bioluminescent blue skin, the Na'vi live in harmony with the natural world, and are considered primitive by human standards. They worship a mother goddess called Eywa.

Humans are unable to breathe Pandora's atmosphere, and peaceful interaction with the Na'vi is difficult. Researchers led by Dr. Grace Augustine (Sigourney Weaver) create the Avatar Program, creating human-Na'vi hybrids. A human who shares genetic material with an avatar can link to it, allowing them to control it while their own body 'sleeps'. These avatars are expensive to create; gaining access to one is difficult. Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) is a former Marine who was paralyzed below the waist in combat on Earth. His twin brother was a scientist working in the Avatar Program. When Jake's brother is killed, Jake takes his place because he is compatible with his brother's avatar. Augustine is not happy about Jake being there; unlike his brother he is not a trained scientific researcher, has no knowledge of Na'vi culture and has never used an avatar. The research team lets him into the program, having him act as security detail rather than a scientist.

While Jake is escorting Augustine and a biologist named Norm Spellman (Joel David Moore) through the jungle, the group is attacked by a thanator, a large predator, and Jake becomes separated from the others, forcing them to leave him behind for the night. Jake attempts to survive in his avatar body, fending off dangerous creatures. This attracts the attention of a female Na'vi named Neytiri (Zoë Saldaña), who rescues Jake. Though troubled by Jake's recklessness, when some floating seeds are attracted to him she sees it as a spiritual sign from Eywa. She takes him to the Na'vi Hometree, the spiritual and geographical home of her clan. The Na'vi decide to teach Jake their ways.

Colonel Miles Quaritch (Stephen Lang) orders Jake to obtain the trust of the Na'vi clan and is given three months to convince them to abandon the Hometree, which sits above a large deposit of unobtanium. As Jake learns Na'vi ways, he finds himself caught between the military-industrial forces of Earth and a newfound love for the Na'vi culture. As part of his initiation into the tribe, Jake tames a flying creature known as a Banshee. While flying with Neytiri, they are attacked by a "Toruk", a formidable and revered winged creature. Neytiri explains that only five Na'vi have tamed the Toruk, and that those who bond with it can unite the Na'vi clans.

Jake is initiated into the tribe. Neytiri and Jake consummate their admitted love for each other, essentially mating for life, much to the jealousy of Tsu'Tey (Laz Alonso), heir to the chieftainship of the tribe, who was chosen to be Neytiri's mate. Jake keeps silent on the humans' plans to use force if the Na'vi will not leave peacefully, but when the deadline runs out, a bulldozing machine almost kills Jake and Neytiri. Jake asks for more time to convince the Na'vi to leave, but Quaritch reveals a vlog where Jake says the Na'vi will never leave, and Selfridge orders an assault on Hometree.

Jake pleads for another chance to convince them to leave and is given one hour. When he reveals his mission to the Na'vi, they feel betrayed and leave him and Augustine strung up to die when the hour runs out. The human forces destroy the Hometree, killing Eytucan (Wes Studi), the tribe's chief and Neytiri's father. Jake and his compatriots are detained. Trudy Chacon (Michelle Rodriguez), a pilot who is disgusted by the violence, breaks the prisoners out, but Augustine is wounded by Quaritch during the escape. Deciding there is only one way the Na'vi will listen to him, Jake tames the Toruk, earning the Na'vi's respect. He pleads with Mo'at (C. C. H. Pounder), the spiritual leader of the Na'vi, to heal Augustine. They attempt to transplant her soul into her avatar, but Augustine dies from her injuries.

Jake stirs the Na'vi to war with the assistance of Neytiri and Tsu'Tey, now chief of the clan. Jake assembles thousands of Na'vi from other tribes to battle the human forces. Colonel Quaritch, seeing that the Na'vi are growing in numbers, orders a preemptive attack to destroy the Tree of Souls, the center of Na'vi religion and culture. If the humans destroy it the Na'vi will be too demoralized to resist their conquest of Pandora. Jake prays to Eywa to intercede on behalf of the Na'vi in the battle. The Na'vi put up a formidable defense, but take heavy casualties, including Tsu'Tey, Trudy, and Norm's avatar. When all hope seems lost, the Pandoran wildlife launches an attack, overwhelming the humans. Neytiri interprets this as Eywa answering Jake's prayer. Colonel Quaritch orders the Tree of Souls bombed, but Jake destroys the bombing shuttle.

Quaritch's gunship is destroyed, but he escapes in his AMP (Amplified Mobility Platform) suit. As he proceeds to the Tree of Souls to destroy it, he finds the Avatar interface field pod Jake's compatriots moved and attacks it to kill Jake. Neytiri and Jake's avatar arrive to defeat him, but the pod is damaged, exposing Jake to Pandora's atmosphere. Neytiri kills Quaritch and saves Jake, seeing his human form. They reaffirm their love for each other.

The humans are forced to leave Pandora, while Jake and his friends are allowed to remain. Jake's soul is transplanted from his human body into his Na'vi avatar.

INVICTUS - NELSON MANDELA BIOGRAPHY

The film tells the inspiring true story of how Nelson Mandela joined forces with the captain of South Africa's rugby team to help unite their country. Newly elected President Mandela knows his nation remains racially and economically divided in the wake of apartheid. Believing he can bring his people together through the universal language of sport, Mandela rallies South Africa's rugby team as they make their historic run to the 1995 Rugby World Cup Championship match.

After decades in a Robben Island prison, Nelson Mandela (Morgan Freeman) is released in 1990 and works immediately to bring about the end of apartheid and the initiation of full democratic elections where the black majority population can vote. Mandela wins the race for President of South Africa and takes office in 1994. His immediate challenge is "balancing black aspirations with white fears." The country's still-present racial tensions are shown, in part, through Mandela's security team, which comprises both new black and old white officials, with the groups immediately hostile to one another despite sharing the same job and goal.

While Mandela attempts to tackle the country's largest problems—including crime and unemployment—he attends a game of the Springboks, the country's rugby union team. Blacks in the stadium cheer against their home squad, as the Springboks (their history, players and even their colors) represent prejudice and apartheid in their mind. Knowing that South Africa is set to host the 1995 Rugby World Cup in one year's time, Mandela meets with Springboks captain Francois Pienaar (Matt Damon). Though Mandela never verbalizes his true meaning during their meeting, Francois understands the message below the surface: if the Springboks can gain the support of black South Africans and succeed in the upcoming World Cup, the country will be unified and inspired.

Francois and his teammates train, but the players (all but one are white) voice disapproval that they are to be envoys to the poor and public—fearing exhaustion from overwork. Mandela, too, hears disapproval from friends and family. As the tournament approaches, Mandela collapses from exhaustion and the Springboks' only black player, Chester Williams, is sidelined with a hamstring injury.

The World Cup begins, and Williams is healthy once again. The Springboks, possessing a sub-par record, are not expected to go very far and in fact are estimated to lose in the quarterfinals; however, they surpass all expectations and make the final, only to face a seemingly invincible team from New Zealand. Francois motivates his team to overcome their doubts and push their bodies to the limits. After ending in a tie, the game is forced into extra time, where the Springboks win on a long drop kick and a score of 15-12. Mandela and Francois meet on the field together to celebrate the improbable victory amidst a crowd of 62,000 fans—both black and white.

SERIOUS MOONLIGHT (2009)

When a high-powered female attorney discovers that her husband is about to leave her for another woman, she prevents him from doing so by binding him to the toilet with duct tape. Complications ensue when burglars break into the couple’s home.

After she arrives at her country home for a romantic weekend getaway, things don't go exactly as planned for high-powered Manhattan lawyer Louise. First, her husband of 13 years, Ian, tells her that he's leaving her for a younger woman. Then, one thing leads to another, and pretty soon Ian finds himself held captive by an oddly cool Louise who explains that she won't release him until he professes his love for her and commits to working on their marriage. And that's when things REALLY start to go wrong. The unexpected arrival of an opportunistic young gardener and Ian's impatient mistress only serve to complicate the crisis even further, while somehow forcing Louise and Ian to reckon with their past and realistically deal with their future.

BROTHERS (2009)

Thirty-something Captain Sam Cahill and his younger brother Tommy Cahill, are polar opposites. A Marine about to embark on his fourth tour of duty, Sam is a steadfast family man married to his high school sweetheart, the aptly named Grace, with whom he has two young daughters. Tommy, his charismatic younger brother, is a drifter just out of jail who's always gotten by on wit and charm. He slides easily into his role as family provocateur on his first night out of prison, at Sam's farewell dinner with their parents, Elsie and Hank Cahill, a retired Marine. Shipped out to Afghanistan, Sam is presumed dead when his Black Hawk helicopter is shot down in the mountains. At home in suburbia, the Cahill family suddenly faces a shocking void, and Tommy tries to fill in for his brother by assuming newfound responsibility for himself, Grace, and the children.

Sam (Tobey Maguire) and Tommy Cahill (Jake Gyllenhaal) are siblings. A Marine about to embark on his fourth tour of duty, Sam is a steadfast family man married to his high school sweetheart, Grace (Natalie Portman), with whom he has two young daughters, Isabelle and Maggie (Bailee Madison, Taylor Grace Geare). The film opens with Tommy being released from jail for armed robbery, not long before Sam departs for Afghanistan.

Soon news comes that Sam's helicopter has crashed over the water, leaving him presumed dead. In reality, he and a hometown friend, Private Joe Willis (Patrick Flueger), have been taken prisoner in a mountain village. With Sam "gone", Tommy attempts to redeem himself in the eyes of his family by wrangling old friends to help with kitchen repairs for Grace and the kids. Grace slowly sheds her previous resentment towards her brother-in-law.

As months pass, Grace and Tommy bond over their mutual mourning, culminating in a passionate fireside kiss. They regret it afterward, and do not take this attraction any further, though Tommy continues to win the favor of his nieces.

Meanwhile, Sam and Joe are abused and tortured by militants, forced to make videotaped dismissals of the military and their mission, though only Joe cracks. The captors eventually deem him useless, and force Sam at gunpoint to beat him to death with a lead pipe. Some time later, Sam is rescued.

He returns home, clearly traumatized by his experience. He drifts through encounters in a cold, paranoid daze, and refuses to explain to his family what happened while he was in Afghanistan, and lies to Joe's widow that he does not know how Joe died. He also believes Tommy and Grace had a sexual relationship in his absence.

At Maggie's birthday party, a resentful and jealous Isabelle claims that Sam's paranoid assumptions are true: that Tommy and Grace have repeatedly slept together. That night, Sam snaps, destroying the newly remodeled kitchen and pulling a gun on Tommy. The police arrive, and after a frantic confrontation in which Sam nearly commits suicide, Sam surrenders.

He is admitted to a mental hospital. During a visit from Grace, he finally admits to killing Joe, and they embrace. A letter between husband and wife is read in voice over, with Sam wondering if he will be able to continue living a normal life.

THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG (2009)

A modern day retelling of the classic story The Frog Prince. The Princess and the Frog finds the lives of arrogant, carefree Prince Naveen and hardworking waitress Tiana crossing paths. Prince Naveen is transformed into a frog by a conniving voodoo magician and Tiana, following suit, upon kissing the amphibian royalty. With the help of a trumpet-playing alligator, a Cajun firefly, and an old blind lady who lives in a boat in a tree, Naveen and Tiana must race to break the spell and fulfill their dreams.

The movie opens with the evening star shining above New Orleans, taking place around the year of 1913, the time when Woodrow Wilson was elected as the 28th President of the United States, according to the newspapers. Young Tiana (voiced by Elizabeth Dampier) and young Charlotte La Bouff (voiced by Breanna Brooks) are listening to the story of "The Frog Prince" as told by Tiana's mother Eudora (voiced by Oprah Winfrey), a seamstress often hired by the La Bouffs (led by the bumbling yet kind sugar mill owner, Eli 'Big Daddy' La Bouff (voiced by John Goodman) mostly to make dresses for Charlotte. Charlotte is thrilled with the idea of kissing a frog and marrying a prince, while Tiana vows she will never kiss a frog. Instead, she shares a dream with her father James (voiced by Terrence Howard): to open a restaurant of their own, named "Tiana's Place."

As the Years pass by, as well as World War I, and Tiana (voiced by Anika Noni Rose) is now working as a waitress, scrimping and saving, and seems to have let go of having fun (as well as everything else) in favor of her dream, as James has now died during his military service at the final years of World War I. She finally makes the money and shows her plans of turning an old riverside warehouse into a classy restaurant to her mother, who insists that she needs to look at other parts of life

Meanwhile, Prince Naveen (voiced by Bruno Campos) of the legendary country Maldonia, arrives in the city with his butler Lawrence (voiced by Peter Bartlett). The prince has been cut off by his parents (the King and Queen of Maldonia) for his play-boy and jazzy lifestyle and either has to marry or get a job to support himself. Staying true to his word, Naveen plans to wed Charlotte (voiced by Jennifer Cody) to gain her fortune. The two soon meet up with Doctor Facilier (voiced by Keith David), a voodoo magician who intends on taking the La Bouff fortune for himself, who turns Naveen into a frog and gets Lawrence to join him in his plot to rule New Orleans.

At the La Bouff grand masquerade ball, Tiana learns that another client (possibly a real estate agent) put down a higher offer on the building she wanted for her restaurant, and is now left with nothing unless she can top him after Mardi Gras. Having given up hope, she desperately wishes on the evening star, when Naveen appears. Thinking that she is a princess, he convinces her to kiss him in order to break the curse and turn him back into a human again, but the spell backfires (because Tiana is not really a princess) and Tiana becomes a frog as well. The two are chased out as Lawrence uses a voodoo charm to impersonate the prince and win the heart of Charlotte. It requires Naveen's blood to work however, so Facilier sends out his voodoo spirits to retrieve the prince, who has escaped to the bayou with Tiana. He plots on using Lawrence to marry Charlotte -thus gaining their fortune- then kill Big Daddy and take over New Orleans, feeding the souls of the citizens to his voodoo "friends".

In the bayou, Tiana and Naveen encounter Louis (voiced by Michael-Leon Wooley), an alligator who wants to become human so he can be a jazz musician, and Ray (voiced by Jim Cummings), a Cajun firefly who is in love with the evening star ( who he has named Evangeline), which he thinks is another firefly. They take them to see Mama Odie, the good but eccentric voodoo priestess of the swamp. Along the way, despite their earlier disputes, Naveen and Tiana fall in love with each other, though the latter chooses to hide her feelings and pursue her goal of having her own restaraunt.

They eventually reach Mama Odie (voiced by Jenifer Lewis), who insists they need to "dig deeper" to get what they need. Naveen realizes this means being with Tiana, but Tiana misinterprets this as having to work even harder for her restaurant. Mama Odie reveals that for the two to become human, Naveen must kiss Charlotte, who is the Mardi Gras Princess, before midnight, when Mardi Gras ends. They proceed to return to New Orleans in time by hitching a ride on one of the riverboats. Along the way, Louis is recruited into a jazz band, who think that Louis is just wearing an alligator costume. Through a misunderstanding, Naveen tells Ray about his feelings for Tiana, and Ray is not suprised. Meanwhile, Naveen plans on proposing to Tiana, but as they pass by the warehouse that she plans to turn into a restaurant, she shows more interest in her dream than in him and he thinks she does not reciprocate his feelings. Knowing that he will never be able to get the money for Tiana's restaurant unless he marries Charlotte, Naveen decides to marry Charlotte and give Tiana her money so that she can follow her dream.

However, Naveen is kidnapped by the voodoo shadow spirits and is taken to Facilier, who locks him away after obtaining a small amount of his blood. Meanwhile, Ray reveals to Tiana that Naveen truly loves her, and that he was meaning to propose. Tiana rushes to the Mardi Gras parade to find Lawrence (disguised as Naveen) marrying Charlotte, having re-fueled the voodoo charm. Thinking that he is the real Naveen, Tiana runs away to the graveyard, broken-hearted, and tells Ray that Evangeline is just a star and he will never actually meet her. Ray does not seem to believe her at all, and apologizes to Evangeline on Tiana's behalf. He rushes off and manages to free the real Naveen and steal the charm, causing Lawrence to resume his true form and get arrested. He gives it to Tiana, telling her to run and to never let Dr. Facilier get hold of the talisman, just before Facilier fatally crushes him.

Feeling trapped, Dr. Facilier transports Tiana and himself into a "dream world" where Tiana has her restaurant as well as her human form. He says she could have everything she wants if she gives him the talisman (and tells her that it would make her father's dream come true as well) , and though momentarily considering the offer, Tiana refuses upon realizing that what she needs-love and following her heart- is more important than what she wants-and that even though her father never got what he wanted, he had what he needed-and never lost sight of what was really important. She then shatters Facilier's talisman, releasing the voodoo spirits from within who proceed to drag a screaming Facilier into their world for failing them, leaving behind a gravestone with his name and horrified face etched upon it.

Back at the Mardi Gras parade, Naveen offers Charlotte marriage, but Tiana confesses she'd rather have him as a frog and have him be a part of her dream, because she is in love with him. Charlotte offers to kiss him so he can marry Tiana, but it is too late. Mardi Gras is over and Charlotte is no longer a princess. Louis finds the wounded Ray and rushes him to the others. He sees that Tiana and Naveen are together and expresses his happiness before he dies. At Ray's funeral, they look up and see that another star has appeared next to Evangeline, presumably Ray.

Naveen and Tiana are married in the bayou by Mama Odie. Their kiss turns them back into humans because through their marriage, Tiana is now a princess. The two go to New Orleans and get back the building by paying the money and having Louis frighten the real estate agents into keeping their word. They work together and open Tiana's restaurant which is named "Tiana's Palace", a successful business where Louis plays trumpet in his band Firefly Five Plus Lou. The movie ends with the two kissing as the evening stars, Ray and Evangeline, twinkle from above.

George Clooney plays Ryan Bingham, a man who travels around the country to various workplaces and using the principles of cost leadership, conducts employee layoffs on behalf of bosses too cowardly to do it themselves. EVERYBODY'S FINE (2009)

After visiting his physician and being warned about his health, Frank Goode (Robert De Niro) takes a train to New York, where he sits on his son David's doorstep. David never shows up, but Frank sees one of David's paintings in a nearby art gallery window. He slips an envelope under David's door.

Next visit is to daughter Amy (Kate Beckinsale), who says it's a bad time to visit. Frank plays a little golf with grandson Jack, but dinner is uncomfortable with tension between Jack and his father. The next morning, Frank accompanies Amy to her fancy office and hears her agency's pitch for a TV ad. She takes him to the bus station to visit Robert.

As Frank travels to each of his children's homes, the film cuts to phone conversations between the siblings. David is in some type of trouble in Mexico, and Amy is going there to find out what is happening; the sisters and Robert (Sam Rockwell) agree to not tell their father about David until they know for sure.

Frank arrives in Denver expecting to see Robert conduct the orchestra. It turns out Robert is "only" a percussionist. He also says Frank's visit is at a bad time, so within hours Frank takes a bus to Las Vegas to visit Rosie (Drew Barrymore). Frank is adamant that each visit is a surprise, but Robert calls Rosie to warn her.

Frank is attacked by a mugger who destroys Frank's prescription pills. Frank manages to escape and scrapes up some of the crushed pills, but when he calls the doctor back home for a prescription refill, he doesn't tell the doctor that he is hundreds of miles from home, traveling against doctor's advice. He has a dream that his son David is in jail.

He arrives in Las Vegas late. Rosie picks him up in a stretch limo and tells him she was in a big show that just ended the previous week. She takes him to her fancy apartment, where her friend brings over a baby for last-minute babysitting. Frank overhears a message being left on an answering machine, indicating the apartment is borrowed from Rosie's friend. He is not comfortable, knowing all his kids are lying to him.

Frank flies back home but — without his pills — he has a heart attack in the lavatory. Frank has another dream of his kids as young children; in the dream, he knows Amy's husband has left for another woman and Rosie's friend's baby is really Rosie's baby. The kids and their mother always kept the unpleasant truth from Frank. While Frank thought he was encouraging his kids, they thought he was pressuring them and would be disappointed in how their lives really turned out. Next scene is in the hospital, where he wakes up in bed with Amy, Robert, and Rosie standing there. They tell him David has died.

Frank goes back to New York to buy David's painting but it has already been sold; the gallery shows him another painting by David that is more appropriate to him a landscape showing PVC-covered power lines made out of glue and macaroni (Frank made PVC-covered cable for years). He visits his wife's grave and talks to her. The last scene shows the family at Christmas. Frank is cooking the turkey and remembers that he always forgot to tell his wife hers was overcooked. The film ends with him walking into the dining room, to his family.

ARMORED - THE MOVIE (2009)

Hackett is an employ at the Eagle Shield armored car company who is attempting shake off a less than outstanding past which includes a criminal record and service in the Iraq War. After the bank threatens to foreclose on his house Hackett finds himself in need of additional money to help make ends meet. While attempting to come up with a way to make more money Hackett is approached by one of the men who he works with at the armored car company, who has devised a plan to steal money being transferred from the Federal Reserve to the local banks in advance of a bank inspection. Upset at the prospect, Hackett turns down the offer and leaves for his home. Upon arriving, he finds a welfare worker who reveals that Hackett's brother has missed most of the school year, and that the absences have prompted the state to consider placing Hackett's brother in foster home.

The following morning Hackett arrives for work, and after receiving assurances that the plan will not leave blood on his hands reluctantly agrees to go along with the heist. Hackett and the other thieves are dispatched in two trucks to collect 42 million from the federal reserve, but after a radio check with their superiors the thieves set their plan into motion by driving to an abandoned steel mill located in a radio dead-zone. Here the team begins to unload the money for storage, intending to collect the cash after the heat from the heist dies down. The group offloads half of the 42 million from the first truck, but their plan takes an unexpected turn when a homeless man living in the mill observes the offloading process. A chase ensues, which results in the thieves catching the man, but when he attempt to flee again Baines, a guard armed with a shotgun, shoots him. This causes Hackett to have a change of heart, but as he attempts to get the homeless man into one of the armored cars the ringleader, Mike, kills the man. Upset over this, Hackett barricades himself inside the truck with the remaining 21 million. After an attempt to flee in the truck fails, Hackett sets off the truck's alarm, which catches the attention of a local sheriff's deputy.

As the thieves attempt to break into the truck the deputy arrives on the scene, and finding nothing of interest prepares to leave, when Hackett successfully restores power to the truck's alarm. In a panic, Baines fires his weapon again, incapacitating the officer. When the thieves get into an argument over what do about this latest setback, Hackett takes the opportunity to debark from his disabled truck. He retrieves the officer and sets fire to the stored money before returning to his truck. Once the truck is secured, Hackett dresses the deputy's wounds as best he can. The remaining thieves devise a plan to break into the truck by knocking off the hinges, which will allow them to remove the doors.

While the men attempt to remove the hinges from the door Hackett discovers that the floor in the back of his truck has a panel that can be removed. After covering the windows of the truck, Hackett successfully removes the panel, and taking the officer's radio, carefully works his way to the roof to see if he can get a message out. His attempt succeeds, but before the deputies arrive the thieves produce Hackett's brother and demand he debark from the truck. Hackett complies, and two of the remaining three thieves head for the money; however Hackett has rigged the money case with booby trap, which detonates upon opening. The explosion destroys the money and kills the two men, leaving only Mike.

Enraged at the loss of all of the money, Mike chases after Hackett, who attempts to flee the scene in the deputy's car. After the car becomes disabled, Hackett flees on foot with the surviving truck in pursuit. Before the ringleader can catch Hackett his truck falls through a hole in the plant, which results in the death of Mike. In the final scene, the deputy is debriefed at the hospital. As the officers leave the room Hackett stands, expecting to be taken in; however the men walk past him. His boss then approaches and congratulates him, and hints at a reward for a job well done.

NINJA ASSASSIN (2009)

Raizo Yamaguchi (Rain) was raised by the Ozunu Clan, to become their next successor of the clan. As a child, Raizo experienced severe training under the guidance of his "father", Lord Ozunu. He was whipped and/or cut whenever he failed and was encouraged to hurt his ninja kin for their failures during their training. The only kindness he ever received was from Kiriko (Kylie Goldstein). As they grew older, Kiriko (Anna Sawai) and Raizo developed a romantic bond, however Kiriko's desire to leave the Ozunu clan for freedom was greater. One stormy night, Kiriko decided to escape from the Ozunu. Kiriko encouraged Raizo to join, but he decided to stay. They kissed and she then climbed over the wall to freedom; she was caught and brought back by her ninja kin. Branded as a traitor, Kiriko was executed (a katana through her heart) by her elder ninja brother Takeshi (Rick Yune). When Kiriko died, Raizo begins to harbor resentment and doubt towards the Clan. When he completed his first hit, Lord Ozunu told him to execute an escaped kunoichi like Kiriko. He rebelled against Lord Ozunu by slashing his face with is blade-chain (kyoketsu shoge) and fought against his ninja kin. Barely surviving his battle, he survived by falling into a nearby river. Raizo recovered and began interventions by foiling recent hits by the Ozunu. While staying in Berlin and waiting for the Ozunu's next move, Raizo rented a small apartment where he secretly continued to refine his training until it was time to act. One day, while washing his clothes, he was approached by an attractive Asian woman who asked him to help her fold her sheets. Raizo exposed her as a kunoichi and she attempted to kill Raizo; Raizo won and hid her remains in the washer machine. By the time the owner came out, he only found her bloody remains in rinse cycle. Meanwhile, Mika Coretti (Naomie Harris) is a Europol agent who investigates money linked to political murders and finds that it is linked to the Ozunu Clan. She defies her superior, Ryan Maslow (Ben Miles), and retrieves secret agency files to find out more. The clan, finding out about the investigation, attempts to assassinate her, but she is rescued by Raizo. Mika convinced Raizo to meet with Maslow for protection and evidence against the Ozunu, but Raizo was intercepted by a task force for interrogation. Mika felt betrayed that Maslow would trick her that way, but Maslow assures Mika (in secret) that he's still on her side and gave her a tracking device for emergencies. Mika was warning Maslow the dangers of keeping Raizo when the Ozunu ninjas infiltrated their secret base and began killing all officers. Mika freed Raizo and he lured the ninjas away as Mika tried to escape. Raizo killed and fended off as many ninjas as he can while Takeshi continues to trail him. Raizo and Mika managed to escape the fight, but Raizo had suffered mortal wounds around his stomach, however he insisted no hospitals and only rest in a private area. Mika then implanted the tracking device into Raizo. Unable to fend against the Ozunu, she hid outside the hotel until special forces arrive to help her. By the time they arrived, Ozunu ninjas have recovered Raizo and decided to send him back to their base for Lord Ozunu for prosecution. While hidden inside a steal locker, Raizo spent all this time using his healing techniques to heal all major injuries before being reunited with his "father". Lord Ozunu had Raizo tied to a stake, ready for execution and set as an example. Raizo angered Lord Ozunu more by being defiant to the end. Lord Ozunu struck against Raizo's internal organs when he spat out the tracking device. Euro-special forces lead by Maslow stormed the hidden Ozunu base and killed most of the ninjas in the court yard. Takeshi and Raizo face each other in the burning Ozunu training hall. Raizo, victorious confronts his adoptive father Lord Ozunu. While Lord Ozuno initially has the upper hand, Mika, fearing for Raizo's life, distracts Lord Ozunu, shooting him with her pistol. Before Raizo can recover, Ozunu stabs her in the heart. Emotionally ravaged, Raizo uses the 'shadow blending,' technique for the first time, and defeats and kills Ozunu. Mika, although seemingly fatally wounded, is saved by a quirk of her birth: her heart is on the opposite side of her chest, in the same fashion as the tattooist from the introduction. Mika and EUROPOL leave the destroyed Ozunu compound, while Raizo stays behind. Symbolically, he climbs the same wall Kiriko did all those years ago, and looks out at the surrounding countryside. Recognizing his freedom for the first time in years, Raizo smiles, ending the film.

Ninja Assassin follows Raizo (Rain), one of the deadliest assassins in the world. Taken from the streets as a child, he was transformed into a trained killer by the Ozunu Clan, a secret society whose very existence is considered a myth. But haunted by the merciless execution of his friend by the Clan, Raizo breaks free from them and vanishes. Now he waits, preparing to exact his revenge.

In Berlin, Europol agent Mika Coretti (Naomie Harris) has stumbled upon a money trail linking several political murders to an underground network of untraceable assassins from the Far East. Defying the orders of her superior, Ryan Maslow (Ben Miles), Mika digs into top secret agency files to learn the truth behind the murders. Her investigation makes her a target, and the Ozunu Clan sends a team of killers, led by the lethal Takeshi (Rick Yune), to silence her forever. Raizo saves Mika from her attackers, but he knows that the Clan will not rest until they are both eliminated. Now, entangled in a deadly game of cat and mouse through the streets of Europe, Raizo and Mika must trust one another if they hope to survive and finally bring down the elusive Ozunu Clan.

This Is It was a planned series of 50 concerts by Michael Jackson to be held at The O2 arena in London. They were scheduled to begin in July 2009 and continue through March 2010. Less than three weeks before the first show was due to begin and with all concerts being sold out, Jackson died after suffering cardiac arrest.

Jackson officially announced the concerts at a press conference held inside The O2 arena. AEG Live, the concert promoters, released a promotional video that took up an entire commercial break, setting a record for ITV. The shows were to be Jackson's first major series of concerts since the HIStory World A rare glimpse into the final days of Michael Jackson, the documentary is compiled from an estimated 80 hours of rehearsal and behind-the-scenes footage of the legendary entertainer preparing for his 50 sold-out shows at London's O2 Arena that were scheduled to commence in July 2009 before his untimely death in June at age 50. Interviews with collaborators and close friends of the late performer are also featured.

Tour finished in 1997, and had been cited as one of the year's most important musical events. Over one million people would have attended in total. Randy Phillips, president and chief executive of AEG Live, stated that the first 10 dates alone would have earned the singer approximately £50 million. Originally only 10 concerts were announced, however public demand resulted in a 50 date sold out residency. Ticket sales broke several records and AEG Live stated that Jackson could have sold more dates. Jackson's album sales increased following the announcement.

In preparation for the concert series, the pop singer had been collaborating with numerous high profile figures, such as fashion designer Christian Audigier, choreographer Kenny Ortega and bodybuilder Lou Ferrigno. Prior to Jackson's death, Allgood Entertainment had planned to sue the musician for $40 million, claiming that he had breached a contract with them.

In light of Jackson's passing, AEG Live offered either full refunds to all ticket holders or a special souvenir ticket designed by the entertainer. Columbia Pictures acquired the footage of the show rehearsals and made a concert film entitled Michael Jackson's This Is It. The Jackson estate will get 90% of the profit made while the remaining 10% goes to AEG Live. Columbia Pictures guaranteed at least $60 million for the rights. To coincide with the release of the concert footage, an accompanying album (This Is It) is also scheduled for worldwide distribution.

When the FBI draws closer to Det. Hoffman, he is forced to set a game into motion, and Jigsaw's grand scheme is finally understood.

On April 29, Lions Gate released a brief synopsis of the plot. Details revealed include confirming Agent Peter Strahm's death and Lieutenant Mark Hoffman continuing Jigsaw's work. The FBI is reportedly on Hoffman's trail. This forces him to set up another game. Jigsaw's overall scheme will also be finally understood.The last revealed trap, a "Steam Room," has yet to be expanded on by the producers, but it is said to be a multi-level trap.Recent screens also show Hoffman viewing Strahm's crushed corpse as well as setting up the "Rack" trap from Saw III.

COUPLES RETREAT

Following failed attempts to conceive, Jason (Jason Bateman) and Cynthia (Kristen Bell) are close to getting a divorce. In an effort to save their marriage they book a vacation to a couples therapy retreat, called Eden. To save money they encourage their friends to join them, and claim that their friends can enjoy the party activities and not take part in the therapy. Reluctantly their friends, Dave (Vince Vaughn) and Ronnie (Malin Akerman), Joey (Jon Favreau) and Lucy (Kristen Davis), and recently divorced Shane (Faizon Love) and his girlfriend Trudy (Kali Hawk) agree.

Upon their arrival at Eden, they are sent to the couples resort on the west side of the island, and forbidden from traveling to East Eden, which hosts a singles resort. During their first night, resort host Sctanley (Peter Serafinowicz) informs all four couples that they must all engage in the couples therapy or leave the resort. Despite reluctance to do the therapy, the couples decide that they will attend so they can enjoy the other amenities of the island.

At their first therapy session, all four couples learn they have problems with their relationships; Even Ronnie and Dave, who thought they were fine. They endure the resort owner Marcel's (Jean Reno) unusual methods, including swimming with sharks and yoga sessions with amorous instructor Salvadore (Carlos Ponce).

On the fourth night, Trudy escapes to Eden East and the other seven, encouraged by Joey who is unsatisfied with his marriage, leave to find her. Following an argument between Cynthia and Jason, the men and women split up.

The women run into Salvadore, and he takes them to Eden East. The men come across the staff lounge, and find Sctanley playing Guitar Hero. He threatens to report them to Marcel, but Dave challenges him to the game, not telling Sctanley that he is involved in the game's production. Dave beats Sctanley and he directs them to Eden East.

When they arrive, Dave realizes what he has with Ronnie and takes her to be alone at the waterfall. Joey sees Lucy with Salvadore and knocks him out, re-uniting with his wife. Robert Zemeckis (Back to the Future trilogy) has his chance to dabble in telling a story through the windows of time, as he directs the long-awaited remake.

Two astronauts wake to find themselves drifting through space and with no memory of who they are. They believe that they must be the only ones aboard the spacecraft, but can hear sounds coming from its center. In the upcoming film a dark comedy/thriller in director Steven Soderbergh’s hands Whitacre’s good deed dovetails with his own major infractions and struggle with bipolar disorder.The film focuses on Whitacre's meltdown resulting from the pressures of wearing a wire for three years. In a stunning turn of events immediately following the covert portion of the case, headlines around the world reported that the whistleblower defrauded $9 million from his own company at the same period of time he was secretly working for the FBI and taping his co-workers.Because of this major infraction and Whitacre’s bizarre behavior, he was sentenced to a prison term three times longer than the white-collar criminals he helped to nab.However, ten years later (2008), the former FBI supervisor of the price fixing case, Dean Paisley (played by Allan Havey), with backing from the two other FBI agents and a former prosecutor, went public with praise about Whitacre. The year 2017 is a future in which humans live in near-total isolation, never leaving the safety and comfort of their homes, and only communicating with their fellow man through remotely-controlled robotic bodies that serve as "surrogates", designed as better-looking versions of their human operators. Because people are safe all the time, and damage done to a surrogate is not even felt by its owner, it is a peaceful world free from fear, pain, and crime. Bruce Willis is an FBI agent who enlists the aid of his own surrogate to investigate the first murder in years, of the genius college student who invented the surrogates. The withdrawn detective discovers that in order to actually catch the killer he will have to physically venture outside the safety of his home for the first time in many years, and enlists the aid of another agent in tracking his target down.

People are living their lives remotely from the safety of their own homes via robotic surrogates -- sexy, physically perfect mechanical representations of themselves. It's an ideal world where crime, pain, fear and consequences don't exist. When the first murder in years jolts this utopia, FBI agent Greer discovers a vast conspiracy behind the surrogate phenomenon and must abandon his own surrogate, risking his life to unravel the mystery.

CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS

The book describes the town of Chewandswallow, where the weather comes three times a day, at breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and is always food and beverages. The rain is juice and soup, the snow is mashed potatoes, and the wind brings hamburgers. However, floods and storms of food come – creating dilemmas such as the school getting smothered beneath a giant pancake (forcing it to close), a tomato sauce tornado, and giant meatballs crushing the town. The townsfolk then build sailboats out of huge pieces of bread. They sail to a new place and grow accustomed to buying food in stores.

In 2009, Columbia Pictures' and Sony Pictures Animation's "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" will be the most delicious event since macaroni met cheese. Inspired by the beloved children's book, the film focuses on a town where food falls from the sky like rain. Bill Hader will voice Flint Lockwood, a young inventor who dreams of creating something that will improve everyone's life. Anna Faris takes on the role of Sam Sparks, a weathergirl covering the phenomenon who hides her intelligence behind a perky exterior. James Caan plays Tim Lockwood, Flint's technophobic father. SORORITY ROW (2009)

Six sorority sisters (Jessica, Cassidy, Ellie, Claire, Chugs, and Megan) live perfect, fun-filled college lives. When Megan discovers her boyfriend Garrett is cheating on her, the sisters plot to stage Megan's death during a makeout session with Garrett as payback for being unfaithful. During the prank, the girls and Garrett bring Megan's "dead" body to a steel mill. While the girls giggle and try to prolong the prank, they mention to Garrett that they need something to chop up the body with. When the girls' backs are turned, Garrett impales a car Spider wrench into her chest, actually killing her. The girls and Garrett, shocked at the murder of their best friend, dump Megan's body into a well, and vow to never ever speak of that night again. One year later, during the party after graduation, the girls receive a mysterious picture sent to their phones: a hooded figure holding the bloody wrench Garret used to kill Megan. They soon find the hooded figure is stalking them and their boyfriends. One by one the girls are killed off as the rest try to find out who is behind the brutal murders. The killer uses the same wrench on various victims, albeit with some modifications and flare. He has added large blades to each end, and sometimes spins or throws it (not unlike a large Shuriken).

college juniors CASSIDY (Briana Evigan), JESSICA (Leah Pipes), CLAIRE (Jamie Chung), ELLIE (Rumer Willis) and MEGAN (Audrina Patridge) are sorority sisters sworn to trust, secrecy and solidarity, no matter what. But their loyalty is tested when a prank at a raucous house party goes terribly wrong and Megan ends up brutally murdered. Rather than confess to the crime and risk destroying their bright futures, the girls agree to hide the bloody corpse and keep their secret forever.

Fast forward one year to graduation. As they prepare to say goodbye to the house and each other, the girls plan one last alcohol-fueled bash on Sorority Row, confident their dark secret remains buried. But does it? As the party rages in the front yard, the bedrooms and the hot tub, the girls receive cell phone videos taken the night of Megan's murder from an anonymous sender who threatens to forward the videos to the police. Then, one by one, the sisters and their unsuspecting boyfriends are stalked by an unseen killer.

Has Megan returned from the dead to exact her revenge? Or was their secret discovered by someone else someone now determined to make them pay? Trapped, the girls race to figure out which of them let their secret slip, who wants them dead, and how to fight back as the bodies pile up and their beloved sorority house explodes into flames. A heart-stopping climax reveals the killer's shocking identity in this suspenseful, hip and sexy remake of the 1983 classic horror thriller.

When five sorority girls inadvertently cause the murder of one of their sisters in a prank gone wrong, they agree to keep the matter to themselves and never speak of it again, so they can get on with their lives. This proves easier said than done, when after graduation a mysterious killer goes after the five of them and anyone who knows their secret.

The time is the too-near future. Powered and enabled by the invention known as the Great Machine, the world's machines have turned on mankind and sparked social unrest, decimating the human population before being largely shut down. But as our world fell to pieces, a mission began to salvage the legacy of civilization; a group of small creations was given the spark of life by a scientist in the final days of humanity, and they continue to exist post-apocalypse. With their group so few, these "stitchpunk" creations must summon individual strengths well beyond their own proportions in order to outwit and fight against still-functioning machines, one of which is a marauding mechanized beast.

9 takes place in a world parallel to our own, in which the very legacy of humanity is threatened. A group of sapient rag dolls, living a post-apocalyptic existence find one of their own, 9 (Elijah Wood), who displays leadership qualities that may help them to survive.

The conflicted, but resilient group includes 1 (Christopher Plummer), a domineering war veteran; 2 (Martin Landau), an aged inventor; 5 (John C. Reilly), a stalwart mechanic; 6 (Crispin Glover), a visionary and artist; and 7 (Jennifer Connelly), a brave warrior.

There are at least several malevolent creatures up against this group; namely, the cat-skulled creature from the short film, a split-headed flying being that resembles both a bat and a manta ray in wing shape, and an insectoid creature with jointed legs and a pod-like body.

HALLOWEEN 2 - FAMILY IS FOREVER (2009)

In a short flashback, Deborah Myers (Sheri Moon Zombie) visits a young Michael Myers (Chase Wright Vanek) at Smith's Grove Sanitarium where she gives Michael the gift of a white horse statuette. Michael explains that the horse reminds him of a dream he had of Deborah's ghost, all dressed in white and leading a horse down the sanitarium halls toward Michael, telling him she was going to bring him home. Moving ahead fifteen years, Laurie Strode (Scout Taylor-Compton) shoots Michael (Tyler Mane) in the head with Dr. Sam Loomis's gun, and then walks the street hysterical and covered in blood until Sheriff Brackett (Brad Dourif) finds her and takes her to the emergency room. Meanwhile, the paramedics pick up Annie Brackett (Danielle Harris) and Dr. Loomis (Malcolm McDowell), who are still alive after their attacks by Michael, and take them to the hospital. Presumed dead, Michael's lifeless body is loaded into a separate ambulance; when the driver wrecks the transport Michael awakens and escapes the ambulance, walking toward a vision of Deborah dressed in white and leading a white horse.

Michael appears at the hospital, and begins murdering everyone he comes across on his way to Laurie. Trapped in a security outpost at the gate, Laurie watches as Michael tears through the walls with an axe, but just as he tries to kill her Laurie wakes up from the dream. It is actually one year later and Laurie is now living with the Bracketts. Michael's body has been missing since last Halloween—still presumed dead—and Laurie has been having recurring nightmares about the event. While Laurie deals with her trauma through therapy, Loomis has chosen to turn the event into an opportunity to write another book. Meanwhile, Michael has been seeing visions of Deborah's ghost and a younger version of himself, who instructs him that with Halloween approaching it is time to bring Laurie home; so he sets off for Haddonfield.

As Michael travels to Haddonfield, Laurie begins having hallucinations that mirror Michael's, which involve a ghostly image of Deborah and a young Michael in a clown costume. In addition, her hallucinations also begin to include her acting out Michael's murders, like envisioning herself taping Annie to a chair and slitting her throat while dressed in a clown outfit—similar to how a young Michael murdered Ronnie White. While Laurie struggles with her dreams, Loomis has been going on tour to promote his new book, only to be greeted with outrage from the public who blame him for Michael's actions. When his book is finally released, Laurie discovers the truth: that she is really Angel Myers, Michael's long lost sister. With the truth out, Laurie decides to go partying with her friends Mya (Brea Grant) and Harley (Angela Trimbur) to escape how she is feeling. Michael appears at the party and kills Harley, then makes his way over to the Brackett house and stabs Annie repeatedly.

When Laurie arrives, she finds Annie bloodied and dying. Michael kills Mya and then comes after Laurie, who manages to escape the house and flag down a passing motorist. Before they can escape, Michael kills the driver and flips the car over with Laurie in it. Michael takes the unconscious Laurie to an abandoned shed he has been camped out in. Laurie awakens to a vision of Deborah, and a young Michael, ordering her to say "I love you mommy". The police discover Michael's location and surround the shed. Loomis arrives and goes into the shed to try and talk Michael into letting Laurie go. Loomis arrives and has to inform Laurie, who believes that the younger Michael is holding her down, that no one is restraining her. Just then, Deborah instructs the older Michael that it is time to go home, and Michael grabs Loomis and begins to repeatedly stab him in the face.

Stepping in front of a window while holding Loomis's body, Michael is shot twice by Sheriff Brackett and falls onto the spikes of some farming equipment. Apparently released of the visions, Laurie walks over and tells Michael she loves him, then she stabs him repeatedly in the chest and finally in the face. The shed door opens and Laurie walks out, wearing Michael's mask. As she pulls the mask off, Laurie transitions to isolation in a psychiatric ward, grinning as a vision of Deborah dressed in white stands with a white horse at the end of her room.

A global cataclysm occurs which leads to the end of the world and has survivors struggling for their lives. The film is inspired by several hypotheses that state that the ancient Mayan predicted a doomsday event will occur sometime around the 2012 northern hemisphere winter solstice.

An academic researcher leads a group of people in a fight to counteract the apocalyptic events that were predicted by the ancient Mayan calendar and other historical documents, astronomy, biblical and scientific data. The rest of the vampire coven who call themselves the Cullens, especially Alice, decide to throw Bella a private party for her eighteenth birthday. Things go wrong when Bella slices her finger and thirst overcomes the vampires. As a result of the danger Bella was put through, the Cullen family decide to leave Forks, Washington. At first Bella exempts herself from all social activities, until she realizes she can coexist with childhood friend, Jacob Black. As usual for Bella, things aren't what they seem. Something is happening to Jacob that he can't explain to Bella, and their friendship starts to deteriorate. But when someone from Bella's past comes back to haunt her, everything will change again.

The storys protagonist, Jake Sully (Sam Worthington), is a former Marine who was wounded and paralyzed from the waist down in combat on Earth. Jake is selected to participate in the Avatar program, which will enable him to walk. Jake travels to Pandora, a lush jungle-covered extraterrestrial moon filled with incredible life forms, some beautiful, many terrifying. Pandora is also home to the Navi, a sentient humanoid race that humans consider primitive, yet are more physically capable than humans. Standing three meters tall, with tails and sparkling blue skin, the Navi live in harmony with their unspoiled world. As humans encroach deeper into Pandora's forests in search of valuable minerals, the Navi unleash their formidable warrior abilities to defend their threatened existence. Jake has unwittingly been recruited to become part of this encroachment. Since humans are unable to breathe the air on Pandora, they have created genetically-bred human-Navi hybrids known as Avatars. The Avatars are living, breathing bodies that are controlled by a human "driver" through a technology that links the driver's mind to their Avatar body. On Pandora, through his Avatar body, Jake can be whole once again. Sent deep into Pandora's jungles as a scout for the soldiers that will follow, Jake encounters many of Pandora's beauties and dangers. Humans cannot breathe Pandoran air, so they genetically engineer human/Na'vi hybrids known as Avatars that can be controlled via a mental link. A paralyzed Marine named Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) volunteers to exist as an Avatar on Pandora, falling in love with a Na'vi princess and becoming caught up in the conflict between her people and the human military that is consuming their world.

THE FINAL DESTINATION (2009)

On what should have been a fun-filled day at the races, Nick O'Bannon has a horrific premonition in which a bizarre sequence of events causes multiple race cars to crash, sending flaming debris into the stands, brutally killing his friends and causing the upper deck of the stands to collapse on him. When he comes out of this grisly nightmare Nick panics, persuading his girlfriend, Lori, and their friends, Janet and Hunt, to leave... escaping seconds before Nick's frightening vision becomes a terrible reality. Thinking they've cheated death, the group has a new lease on life, but unfortunately for Nick and Lori, it is only the beginning. As his premonitions continue and the crash survivors begin to die one-by-one--in increasingly gruesome ways--Nick must figure out how to cheat death once and for all before he, too, reaches his final destination.

Years after the Flight 180 disaster from the first film, a young man (Bobby Campo) and his friends survived a race track disaster after having a horrific premonition of their own demises, only to discovers that Death is claiming the survivors one by one. He and his beautiful girlfriend Lori (Shantel VanSanten), who is also one of the survivors, must find a way to cheat their deaths once more before they reach their final destination.

At McKinley Speedway, race fans are gathered in the stands to watch as cars speed around the track. Some are even hoping for a crash. Nick O'Bannon (Bobby Campo) joins his friends, Hunt Wynorski (Nick Zano), Janet Cunningham (Haley Webb), and his girlfriend, Lori Milligan (Shantel VanSanten), with hot dogs and drinks in his hands. They are sitting in section 180. As he sits down, the bench almost snaps in half. Hunt offers the group a drink from his binoculars, which is just a cleverly-shaped canister. Lori asks him if that's straight-up Jack, but Hunt says it his buddy, Jim. Down a couple of rows, Bobby sees Samantha (Krista Allen), a wife and mother of two, tell her boys to put tampons in their ears to block out the noise. A cowboy (Jackson Walker) sits down in front of Nick and Lori, blocking their view. They ask him to move down. A mechanic, Charlie Kewzer (Andrew Fiscella), and his girlfriend, Nadia (Stephanie Honore), are sitting together a few rows down. Nadia says she can't see because of two people standing up. Charlie yells, "Down in front, a**hole!" A racist, Carson (Justin Welborn) and his wife (Lara Grice) see a black security guard named George (Mykelti Williamson) and Carson starts whistling Dixieland. George asks Carson to put his feet down. At the pit stop, wind knocks over a canister of motor oil and that spills down in the front of the tires of one of the cars. As the car speeds off, it dangerously slips on the motor oil, but regains control. Soon, a silver car pulls up and as the crew is filling it up, one guy leaves a sharp tool in a hole in the back of the car. One of the crew yells ,"Go! Go!" when everybody else isn't done, but the car speeds off. The tool in the back of the car drops onto the track shortly after. After a lap, a black car with flames printed on the sides runs over the tool, bursting one of the tires. The car soon starts doing cartwheels, sending two of the tires flying. Everyone in the stands jumps to their feet in eagerness as one the tires flies and hits Nadia in the head, decapitating her. Everyone sees this and runs to the exit in panic. Carson and his wife watch as one of the cars skids out of control, and they turn to run. The car explodes, sending the hood into the stands, slicing Carson and his wife in half. Stephanie and her husband and her kids try to get out. The husband takes the boys outside to safety, but Stephanie is left behind. She trips on the stairs leading to the exit, and people step and trip on her as she is on the ground. She turns over on the stairs with teeth missing and her mouth full of blood. Suddenly, an engine flies and slams her in the stomach, killing her. etc.....

INGLORIOUS BASTERDS

The main theme of the film concerns revenge. The film is set in an alternate history of the Second World War in which the entire top leadership of Nazi Germany, namely Hitler, Goering, Goebbels and Bormann attend a film premiere in Paris celebrating the exploits of a German sniper who had managed to kill 300 American soldiers in Italy. Most of the film's timeframe is set in early June 1944, after the D-Day landings but before the liberation of Paris.

The film tracks the separate attempts to kill Hitler by two disparate forces, one being the "Basterds", a motley crew of Jewish American soldiers out for revenge against the Nazis. The Basterds have a modus operandi whereby each man must cut off the scalp of a dead Nazi soldier, with orders to get 100 scalps each. The Basterds allow one German soldier to survive each incident so as to spread the news of the terror of their attacks. However, the Basterds carve a swastika into the forehead of that German. The other force concerns Shosanna (Mélanie Laurent), the only survivor of a Jewish family killed by the Jew Hunter, who plots her own revenge on the Nazis. The Basterds and Shosanna remain unaware of each other throughout the film.

The film opens in 1941 with Colonel Hans Landa of the Waffen-SS, proudly known as the "Jew Hunter", interrogating Perrier LaPadite, a French dairy farmer, over rumors that he had been hiding a Jewish family. Landa manages to break down LaPadite and locates the hiding place of the Jews underneath the floorboards. He orders his soldiers to fire into the floorboards, killing all but the teenage Shosanna.

Four years later, by 1944, Shosanna has assumed the identity of "Emmanuelle Mimieux". How she managed to do so is not revealed. She has also become the proprietress of a cinema, which is chosen by Frederick Zoller, a spotlight-hungry sniper-turned-actor whose exploits are celebrated in the Nazi propaganda film, Stolz der Nation (A Nation's Pride), as the setting for the film premiere. Since he feels attracted to Shosanna, he manages to convince Goebbels to hold the premiere in her cinema. Shosanna, however, does not reciprocate his feelings.

Shosanna realizes that the presence of so many high ranking Nazi officials and officers provides an excellent opportunity for revenge. She resolves to burn down her cinema using the massive quantities of flammable nitrate film in her storage rooms during the premiere and makes a fourth reel in which she tells the Nazis present of her Jewish identity and revenge.

In the meantime, the British have also learned of the Nazi leadership's plan to attend the premiere and dispatch a British officer, Lt. Archie Hicox, to Paris to lead an attack on the cinema with the aid of the "Basterds" and a German double agent, an actress by the name of Bridget von Hammersmark.

Hammersmark arranges to meet Hicox and the Basterds in the basement of a French tavern. Unbeknown to her, however, the night of the rendezvous is also the occasion of a German staff sergeant celebrating the birth of his son with his soldier comrades. One of the German soldiers present strikes up a conversation with Hicox and notices that his accent is "odd". An SS officer who is in the tavern as well also notices that odd accent. When Hicox gives the wrong three fingered order for whiskies (without using his thumb, a traditional German gesture), the SS officer realizes their deception. A firefight breaks out in which the British officer and two of the "Basterds" are killed as is everyone in the tavern except Hammersmark, who is wounded in her left leg.

Aldo Raine, a U.S. Army second lieutenant in the First Special Service Force and the commanding officer of the Basterds, interrogates Hammersmark and decides to continue the operation against the cinema under the guise of Italians as suicide bombers. Colonel Landa, now an SD officer, is able to retrieve one of Hammersmark's shoes from the scene of the firefight at the tavern and also an autographed napkin which Hammersmark had signed for the staff sergeant's son. He approaches Hammersmark and Raine in the cinema lobby and is able to easily see through their disguises, as none, even Raine, can speak any Italian or German. He questions Hammersmark alone and makes her try on the shoe he had retrieved from the tavern. It is a perfect fit. He violently strangles her to death as a traitor, and orders the arrest of Raine.

In the closing stages of the film, Landa reveals himself to be a turncoat. He attempts to reach a deal with Raine's commanding officer via a two way radio in which he proposes to allow the assassination attempt against Hitler and the rest of the Nazi leadership to continue in return for safety, privileges, money, medals and a house for himself. He also reveals that he had planted Raine's stick of dynamite in Hitler's box at the cinema meaning that there are now three attempts against Hitler's life.

Zoller, uncomfortable with the way he is portrayed killing Americans in Stolz der Nation, leaves the cinema auditorium and makes his way to the projectionist's room where Shosanna is planning her attack. Shosanna's assistant and lover, Marcel, is waiting behind the cinema screen ready to set alight the film reels. Shosanna is unable to get rid of Zoller, who angrily confronts Shosanna about her behavior. She shoots him in the back, mortally wounding him. Afterwards, in an apparent moment of pity, realizing that Zoller is alive, she rolls him over and he in turn shoots her dead.

When the fourth reel of the film starts with Shosanna's speech to the Nazis assembled in the auditorium that she is a Jew and the audience is about to burn, Marcel sets the nitrate film alight thus causing a pandemonium in the auditorium. Meanwhile, Donny and Omar, who had been seated amongst the Nazis in the auditorium, ambush Hitler's box and are able to gun down Hitler, Goebbels and the other Nazi leaders. As the cinema is engulfed in flames, Raine's men fire randomly into the crowd, who are attempting to flee. Escape is impossible, as Marcel had earlier locked and barred the auditorium doors. Additionally, the dynamite that Landa had planted in Hitler's box, as well as the dynamite strapped to the Basterds' legs, now goes off. The cinema is destroyed in the subsequent inferno, killing all inside.

Landa sets off with Raine towards the American lines in Normandy where he intends to turn himself in, as part of the deal he had made with Raine's commanding officer. He surrenders to Raine and hands over his gun. Raine orders Landa to be handcuffed and shoots dead Landa's driver. The film ends with Raine carving a swastika into Landa's forehead and declaring that it may just be his greatest "masterpiece".
